Preliminary Examination
• Duration: 2 Hours
• Maximum Marks: 150
• Nature: Objective type
It has two parts:
Part I: General Knowledge (50 Questions) - 50 Marks
Candidates are expected to have a broad awareness of the following topics:
1. General Science - 08 Questions
2. Current Events of National and International Importance - 10 Questions
3. History of India - 08 Questions
4. Indian National Movement - 08 Questions
5. Indian Polity & Economy - 08 Questions
6. World Geography and Population - 08 Questions


Part II: Law (100 Questions) - 100 Marks
Covers important laws and codes as follows:
1. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) - 30
Questions
2. Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (BSA) - 20
Questions
3. Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSSP)
- 25 Questions
4. U.P. Police Act and Regulations - 15 Questions
5. Indian Constitution - 10 Questions
Main Examination
• Total Marks: 500
• Number of Papers: 6
• Duration:
• General English & General Knowledge: 1.5 Hours each
• All other papers: 3 Hours each


Papers:
1. General Hindi - 100 Marks (High School Standard)
2. General English - 50 Marks (High School Standard)
3. General Knowledge - 50 Marks (Same syllabus as in Prelims Part-I)
4. Criminal Law & Procedure - 100 Marks
(Likely to cover Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023)
5. Shakshya Adhiniyam (Law of Evidence) - 100 Marks (Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023)
6. Anya Adhiniyam (Other Laws) - 100 Marks Questions will be asked from the following legislations:
1. U.P. Police Act, 1959
ii. Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012
iii. Probation of Offenders Act, 1961 iv. Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989
V. Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 vi. Information Technology Act, 2000
Vii. Explosives Act, 1884
vili. Public Property Damage Prevention Act, 1984
iX. Essential Commodities Act, 1955
x. U.P. Excise Act, 1970
Xi. U.P. Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986
xii. Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961
xili. U.P. Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021
xiv. Prevention of Seditious Meetings Act, 1911
