After being inspired by channels like Roohif's, I decided to tackle some of the harmful misinformation some FE channnels were putting out by testing their claims for myself. I left school aged 15 some decades ago now which means I only have regular math skills to rely on, so forgive me if I omit or structure things not to your liking.
Aims;
• learn how to construct basic geometry in GeoGebra
• learn some math along the way
• improve my communication
• learn to use a video editor
• develop some presentation skills
• test FE claims & debunk their nonsense
• help prevent genuine truth seekers from falling down the rabbit hole
I'm not one for constantly watching FE content because it's depressing. I will put videos out in my own time as and when I'm in the right frame of mind.

It's been a minute! I'll be making a little series of about possibly 8, SHORT videos over the next couple of weeks. Probably 1 minute to 5 minutes maximum in length. I think I'll call the series, Globe Geometry For Flat Earthers, 🤣 although some globers might find it helpful too 🤓. It'll be just the basic stuff like; Distance to the Horizon, Drop, Hidden Height, 8" per mile², etc. Nothing too complicated - just derivations of the basic formulas (trigonometry), examples and general exploration of the geometry, sort of thing. I've done the intro or Part 1 already so that will be up a little later today and I'll try not to leave it too long for Part 2.
If you spot any obvious mistakes then PLEASE let me know. Definitely correct me or add more context if you can. Part 1 scheduled to go public at 4pm London time. 😊

"Challenge: Maybe you can demonstrate how the path of totality is predicted on your model for the upcoming solar eclipses in 2027 & 2028 & 2045? I did it just fine, no flat baselines and no saros cycles. I just used 2 snapshots in time and a globe. I even provided the geometry because I'm transparent. I only needed the Sun/Moon positions at the start of the eclipse and again at the end. I then interpolated where they would be for every second in between. Projected a line from the Sun, through the Moon, and then marked a shadow point where this line hit a globe of radius 6371 km. The traced path matched the path on TimeandDate just fine and timings correct to within a few seconds on paths 1000's of km long. Let's see you do the same. You can't cheat by getting every single data point from official datasets or ephemerides. I will allow 2 snapshots in time. That's your challenge."

Getting around to responding to @BriansLogic after I told him I'd make a video about the claim he made, his claim being the GP of the Sun has a place on the reference plane in the altitude/azimuth diagrams. So what happens when it sets? I don't need to but I'll be deriving the formulas I'm using from the pic below so those who like some trigonometry, there'll be plenty in this vid.
