Our debut album Lost In Transcription is officially out now on Da Vinci Classics.
We are incredibly proud of this work and so happy to finally share it with you. We've been waiting for this day since the recording sessions a year ago, in February 2025.
There is only one idea behind this album — pure creativity. The professional classical music world is designed for different programmes, different repertoire, a different concept. But we followed our own imagination — and now you can hear where it led us.
The programme: • Ravel's Violin Sonata • Ravel's "Kaddish" from Deux mélodies hébraïques • Grieg's Violin Sonata, in a transcription by my dear friend Ivan Skanavi (with a few tiny differences 🤫🤭) • Three excerpts from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess
We wish you a beautiful 53 minutes in the musical journey we've created.
Listen on Spotify, Amazon, and other major platforms.
We are beyond thrilled to announce that Lost In Transcription — our debut album as a duo — will be released worldwide on April 29 via the prestigious Da Vinci Classics label.
Recorded over three long, intense nights (8 hours each) in the legendary Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, this project is the culmination of many concerts and a very deep love for this music.
The title suggests something is inevitably lost when moving from violin or voice to cello. We believe, as our librettist Giuliano Marco Mattioli beautifully describes, that it is quite the opposite. Transcription here is a lens — bringing the hidden veins of Ravel, Grieg, and Gershwin’s scores closer, revealing a new warmth and narrative through the voice of the cello and piano.
This album would not exist without the immense trust and understanding of Edmondo Filippini at Da Vinci Classics. Thank you for believing in our vision and for the incredible work bringing this music across Europe (Italy, Germany, France), the USA, Japan, and South Korea. We are also so happy to present these works live at concerts in Russia and China very soon.
A special thank you to our brilliant sound engineer and dear friend Evgeni Puliaev — your talent allowed us to hear this genius music exactly as it sounds in our heads.
And to Angelina Zaitseva — thank you for the photography that fills this music with air, space, and the essence of nature.
This was a long journey from that cold February week in Moscow to now. We are so proud of the result and cannot wait to share it with you.
I am glad to share my recording of Georgy Gusev's piece "Calypso" for solo cello!
This spring, I got to know Georgy personally, even though I knew his music before that and even heard the game as a teenager. His music and playing are amazing from the very first sounds! The level of freedom that is available to him, the power of expressiveness and expression are completely discouraging and forever etched into his memory.
Thanks to the All-Russian Cello Academy festival, the composer (and now my friend) and I played a version of "Calypso" for two cellos, and now I am very pleased to present you a version for solo cello performed by me.
I am sure that Georgy Gusev's music will be included in the main cello repertoire and in the near future it will be difficult to imagine a cellist who does not play his pieces.
Enjoy watching!
I will be very glad to receive your support with likes and comments, as well as help in spreading Georgy’s wonderful work!
