Just a Gretsch Fan

I want to post some short music videos and/or maybe cover in the futur.
I’m inspired by my passion for rock music.

I hope you like them — please be indulgent.
I try to do my best, even though I record myself with a phone and not professional equipment.
This is simply about sharing the song that I like and the joy I feel playing it.

(I call myself a Gretsch fan because I genuinely love their guitars — even if I only have two for now)

Gretsch G6131 MY Jet Firebird Red Signature Limited Edition (The Beast) Malcolm Young.

This guitar is Malcolm Young's signature Gretsch model. The guitar was given to him by one of his older brothers when he owned a Gibson LS-6 single cut. He recorded the entire High Voltage album with his Gibson (the only album with this Gibson), which can be seen in an unofficial video for Baby, Please Don't Go. He also played his Gretsch from time to time. He ended up using it exclusively and recording with it until the end of his career because he broke the neck of his Gibson. Although the model appears to be original, it has already undergone modifications by Malcolm (but fewer than it will undergo in the future). The guitar can be seen in several official videos, such as
High Voltage, It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock N Roll), and Jailbreak (in which he wears a prison guard uniform).
He used it throughout his career, but the guitar bore no resemblance to what it looked like between 1974 and 1976 (i.e., its authentic red appearance).

Here’s the Gretch G6137 stereo White Falcon (Project-O-Sonic) from 1959 that Malcolm Young used during The Back In Black Tour and the For Those About to Rock Tour

Gretsch G6131 MY-CS (1996), played and signed by AC/DC rhythm guitarist and co-founder Malcolm Young.
This Gretsch, produced in roughly 1,000 units, is a Custom Shop replica of Malcolm Young’s iconic 1963 G6131 Jet Firebird, known as “The Beast.” Though it wasn’t used on the Ballbreaker album (recorded in 1995 and released in 1996), the guitar saw action in later performances.

Outfitted with a single Humbucking FilterTron pickup and stripped of any tone controls, the guitar delivers a raw, unfiltered sound. Its distinctive tone stems from Malcolm Young’s aggressive wrist attack and the guitar’s dynamic response when plugged into a Marshall amp.

Released in the late ’90s as a signature model, it appears in the official music video for “Hail Caesar” (track seven on Ballbreaker), as well as in the video for “Cover You in Oil” (track two from the same album), though in a red finish—identical in specs to the yellow model.

I really like Malcolm Young of AC/DC, both for the person he was and for the guitarist he was. He was the one who inspired me to play guitar (he's a real inspiration to me). The next few photos will also feature Malcolm Young's Gretsch guitar, which I took the same week as the yellow Gretsch he played.
