One thing that sucks with agency reporting is clients compare cost per lead.
They’ll see another company getting cheaper leads and instantly think they’re losing.
But they have no clue what the lead quality is like.
As an agency owner, I obviously want leads as cheap as possible.
As a former home service business owner…
I care way more about quality.
Because cheap leads can actually cost you more.
You pay admin staff to call them.
You waste time following up.
Your team ends up digging through rubbish just trying to find the few good ones.
Then you realise half the leads were:
Outside your area.
Wrong service.
Price shoppers.
Never answer.
No budget.
Meanwhile another business is paying more per lead…
But they’re closing more jobs.
Their ROAS is higher.
Their team is spending less time dealing with junk.
There’s a value gap a lot of business owners don’t understand until they get absolutely smashed with irrelevant leads.
So you either:
Keep the forms simple and automate the hell out of follow up.
Or qualify the fuck out of them.
Cheap CPL doesn’t always mean better marketing.

Most home service businesses don’t need more complicated marketing.
They need better systems.
One of the biggest mistakes I see businesses make is boosting random Facebook posts and hoping leads start rolling in.
The businesses getting the best results usually focus on:
* strong offers
* proper follow-up
* local trust
* simple ad creatives
* customer acquisition systems
Not just “running ads.”
Simple personal-style ads usually outperform heavily over-produced content for home service businesses.
I broke down exactly why in today’s article 👇

Most local businesses don’t actually have a lead problem.
They have a follow-up problem.
One of the biggest things I’ve noticed running Facebook Ads & Google Ads for local businesses is how many leads get wasted simply because businesses respond too slowly.
The difference between replying in: 2 minutes vs 2 hours
can completely change conversion rates.
Most businesses focus entirely on:
* getting more leads
* better ads
* lower CPLs
…but ignore:
* speed to lead
* follow-up systems
* automations
* CRM workflows
The businesses generating the most booked jobs are usually the ones with the best systems after the lead comes in.
Advertising gets the lead.
Follow-up closes the deal.

Home Service Facebook Ads On Easy Mode For Everyone Struggling
Make your creatives stupidly simple.
Here’s some sauce on what I’ve found works every single time:
Personal-style ads always win.
People buy from people, so be a fucking person.
Example:
The business owner standing in front of their branded car, smiling at the camera.
Text on the image says:
“Hey, I’m [Name] from [Company Name]”
Then put a giant arrow pointing at their head.
That shit stops the scroll instantly and sells 10x better than some ugly flyer-style ad.
For videos, keep it simple too:
- Introduce yourself to the camera
- Explain what you do
- Show B-roll of the work getting done
- End with a clear CTA
That’s it.
No overthinking.
No fake corporate marketing bullshit.
Just real people talking about real services.
Bang.
Easy.
Now go make some money.
