The Best of Whitney

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Cissy Houston, a legendary gospel singer and beloved mother of Whitney Houston. Cissy's powerful voice and musical legacy touched the lives of so many over the decades. As we remember her incredible contributions to music and her unwavering faith, our hearts go out to her family, friends, and all who were inspired by her. May Cissy, Whitney, and Bobbi rest in peace. 🕊💜

The Best of Whitney

On June 28, 2019, exactly 5 years ago today, "Higher Love" by Whitney Houston with Kygo was released as a single. Whitney recorded her cover version of Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” in 1989, and that version was previously released as a Japan-only bonus track on her I’m Your Baby Tonight physical album in 1990. The track was reimagined and produced by Norwegian DJ Kygo, blending her powerful vocals with contemporary tropical house beats— debuting at #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Song for the week of August 24, 2019, and also debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart and stayed at the top of that chart for 16 weeks, breathing new life into her illustrious legacy. 🎶✨
