I took this footage just before Christmas. I no longer have the moustache. It was an area I have been interested in after a friend alerted me to the strange reports surrounding a homestead, creek and "Devils" bend in the road. The homestead is called 'Hunungra'.
Hello fellow campers.. The Kia Carnival grandkids mover is no more. I think I stressed it out too much on Bobeyon road on my recent trip to the Mount Clear campground. Also I think I stressed my old sexagenarian body out too much climbing Shanahan's Mountain a few weeks ago. It's time to accept my limitations as I age. I have decided to alter my outdoor operations and adventures, and probably the direction of this YouTube channel, with my purchase of a Nissan X-trail T30 4WD. A vehicle more appropriate for my dirt road destinations in the bush. It's a nice little clean vehicle which has been well maintained and serviced regularly. The plan is to make more overlanding type content, visiting locations I find interesting and that hopefully you will too. I'll make a video showing the car soon. Watch this space..
For those who follow my channel for yowie related stuff..
Hello friends. This is a message I am sending to everyone that I have been involved in the yowie world in the past 15 years of researching the subject. As most of you know my wife Jacqueline received a life saving double lung transplant in November 2022. Her recovery has been a series of ups and downs during the preceding years requiring considerable time and effort in maintaining her continuing recovery. During this time I have placed her wellbeing above my personal interests, including research into the yowie phenomenon. I have realised now the importance of family and the fragility of life in the big picture of things. In the past few days I have come to the realisation that I must choose to retire from active yowie researching as 1. Every moment of my life will now be dedicated to enjoying whatever time I have left with my wife and my family. 2. I think I am just exhausted with the search for something that I have already proven to myself a reality yet remains so frustratingly elusive. I neither have the resources to effectively investigate or the dedication requirements to continue. It is time for me to hang up my boots and be satisfied with seeing the efforts of others who still have the drive to continue the search. In closing I do not wish to lose any of the wonderful friends I have gained over the past decade and a half and will still enjoy hearing about others ongoing discovery but I will no longer be an ongoing participant in active research for the foreseeable future. I wish everyone every success in their endeavours.. your friend David Reid.
