Meet your Neurodivergent Neighbour 🌻🌙
Hi, I'm Hayley! I make videos about finding your way back to yourself.
Here you'll find gentle reflections on friendship, neurodivergence, slow living, creativity, and building a life that feels like home. Sometimes that looks like deleting social media, wandering through forests, moving across the world, or learning how to belong exactly as you are.
If you've ever felt a little different, a little lost, or like you're searching for your people, you might like it here.
☁️ New videos whenever inspiration strikes (but mostly on sundays lol)

I am back on the road (well on a boat) heading to the airport! ✈️👏🏼 I’m travelling to Italy again! It was a weird coincidence to have a work trip immediately after my Italy retreat but hard to complain?? Haha It’s going to be a very different trip as I am nannying for a family I’ve known since I was 14! ✨🌱 it’ll be fun! Wish me luck!

I often hear from adults these days that they struggle to make friends. But when I inquire into what they're doing to make friends it becomes clear that their struggle is not actually making friends, it's having the energy to even TRY.
I think sometimes we can forget that making friends means meeting strangers, becoming vulnerable with them consistently and constantly and THEN becoming friends.
I have been prioritizing community in my life these last few weeks and this means constantly draining my social, emotional and mental energy to be around strangers all the time. This is not always comfortable but it is necessary for the outcome I'm seeking.
To do this, I needed to make some sacrifices - such as not having as many date nights with my partner or not having very much me time in the evenings. It also means that I need to be proactive in recouping my energy. As counter productive as it may sound, this has meant waking up early, doing yoga, journaling, being creative and taking my recoup time in the morning.
So perhaps some people are not better at making friends than you are, they are just making sacrifices that allow them the ability to try? I'm not sure! What do you think?
And if you want to watch more about my friendship journey, you can find that in this week's video here! https://youtu.be/ptLzlL4tvhc?si=h8s6T...

When I was 6 or 7 years old, I would walk in nature and imagine the trees talking to me. I would write diary entries to the sun. I felt truly connected to the earth - barefoot, wild curls, constantly dirty from play. I feel as though I am coming into this version of me again, and it feels like a RETURN to my true self.
I am an evolving being and lately I have found this evolution hard to grapple with. I was consumed by a fear that coming into my self would mean a rejection from my audience or my partner or my friends. If I became who I felt I wanted and needed to, it would mean letting go of who I was when you met me.
I began noticing a great desire for art in my life: poetry, music, painting, clay, movement, writing. I was witnessing a desire to honor the earth through spiritual practices more deeply rooted than they have ever felt before.
Here is how I have begun honoring these shifts:
prioritizing time in nature
I have been spending hours outside every opportunity I get - which does mean sacrificing some things (I haven't watched any movies or tv in a long time!)
yoga, meditation & journaling from a spiritual standpoint
I have begun every day with sun salutations accompanied by offerings to the sun - flower petals I collected from the ground in the garden with the hope of an exchange of energy with the sun (let me release negativity and cultivate brightness & warmth).
creativity & art as a guide
I have been waking up every morning to begin my day with creation. Following yoga and mediation and journaling, I have been baking something first thing. Fresh bread, croissants, scones or just a very delicious and intentional breakfast. This has felt so beautiful and my entire day feels guided in this energy of creation. I am feeling constantly inspired to write or paint or just create for the sake of creating and so I am honoring these desires and sacrificing other things to make them happen.
Perhaps I am becoming more "woo-woo" as some may call it. And perhaps that's okay! Perhaps we will slowly grow away from each other and this is not a poor reflection on either of us - it is a slow process of creating space for better alignments.
I'm curious how you feel about this change in me, what it reflects or mirrors within yourself and what you hope to cultivate more of in your daily life.
