Dutch Themepark Network

Welcome to the Dutch Themepark Network (DTN)! Since our launch in May 2023, we have dedicated ourselves to spreading high quality information about Efteling, Keukenhof, Toverland, Safari Park Beekse Bergen and other Dutch theme parks. Our passion for these magical destinations drives us to share the most comprehensive and insightful information with fellow theme park enthusiasts.

At DTN, we pride ourselves on delivering up-to-date travel tips, in-depth news, and reviews. Our expertise isn't just limited to the accommodations, the rides and attractions; we delve into the culinary experiences at the parks, offering you a taste of the best food and restaurants each park has to offer.

It's important to us that you know: Dutch Themepark Network operates independently of all the parks. We are neither employed by nor affiliated with the entities we discuss. This independence is the cornerstone of our content, allowing us to provide you with reviews and reports that are 100% unbiased.

Last week I heard a story. A story about someone who went to a theme park for a multi-day stay and did absolutely everything on the first day. Miles and miles of walking. Ride after ride. Pushing through tiredness. Ignoring the signals their body was giving them because they were excited, happy and wanted to make the most of it all and because of that, they were sick for the rest of their stay.

It struck me because it feels like such a familiar kind of mistake. Not just in theme parks, but in life. How often do we do this to ourselves? How often do we keep going because we love what we are doing? Because we are with people we love? Because we have looked forward to something for ages and do not want to “waste” it? Because we have to? Read more -> www.dutchthemeparknetwork.com/get-inspired/3103354…

No one is born a good traveler and definitely not good theme park traveler. That comes from experience, from forgetting to check opening hours and arriving two hours early to Efteling, from realising your battery hit 3% right before your Lightning Lane window or from learning (way too late) that sunscreen in Orlando is not optional.

But the good news? You don’t have to learn everything the hard way. After years of traveling to theme parks across Europe and beyond, early flights, rope drops, hotel-hopping, rain ponchos, parade strategies, and more we’ve gathered our very best tips.

Here are our 30 theme park travel tips to make your next trip smoother, cheaper, and a lot more magical.

Traveling right now seems to come with a question that pops up more and more often: is it still safe? I get that question a lot and even more frequently now. With my plans for a US road trip and a European rail trip, I hear it from both sides of the ocean. People in Europe look at my US plans as if I’ve completely lost my mind. Meanwhile, people in the US ask whether Europe is still safe to visit. And the funny thing is: when you point that out people look at you full of wonder: "Naturally my side of the ocean is safe. Why wouldn't it be?" Read more: www.dutchthemeparknetwork.com/get-inspired/3065639…

Theme parks are basically fear factories… but in the best possible way. They take the things that normally make our brains go NOPE (height, speed, dropping, going upside down, screaming next to strangers) and turn them into something we pay money for. On purpose. Repeatedly. and the reason we can do that? Read more -> www.dutchthemeparknetwork.com/get-inspired/3035396…

If you told me five years ago that I would be a “YouTuber,” I would have laughed and if you really know me, you know why. I don’t like being in the spotlight. I’m not someone who naturally wants to hear my own voice, watch my own face, or be “the one on camera.” The idea alone used to make me cringe.
But there’s another side of me that’s always been stronger than the fear: I love creating things… and I love helping people and that’s exactly what Dutch Theme Park Network started as: a fun hobby with a purpose. I wanted to share my theme park love, but also make it easier for others, first-time visitors, international guests, planners, overthinkers (hi 👋) to have the best day possible.
At first, I honestly expected other people would take over the “being on camera” part. I tried to recruit volunteers (yes, including Joost 😄) and that worked… for a while… read more-> www.dutchthemeparknetwork.com/start-here/get-inspi…

If you’ve been anywhere near Efteling fandom lately, you’ve probably felt it: Danse Macabre isn’t “just” a new attraction. It’s the kind of ride people argue about in group chats. The kind you re-ride “for research.” The kind that makes even seasoned theme park travellers pause… and then quietly say, okay wow. A few weeks ago, we got a message from one of our followers who travelled all the way from Australia to visit Efteling. Her verdict?
“Best ride in the world. Even better than Pirates in Shanghai.” and that’s is a big statement. Shanghai Disneyland’s Pirates is widely considered a modern masterpiece. So… can Danse Macabre really compete on that level?
Let’s talk about what makes this attraction so special and whether it deserves the title: best ride in the world. Read more: www.dutchthemeparknetwork.com/start-here/get-inspi…

Yes, we’re Dutch, our accent gives it away in the first five seconds so why do you keep writing and vlogging in English when Dutch is your first language? It’s a fair question. One I get often. The simple answer is practical: most of the people we connect with online don’t speak Dutch but the real answer goes deeper. Read more:

Queues get a bad reputation. They’re the “price you pay” for the ride. The thing you tolerate. The time you try to skip. The part of the day you complain about while you’re already standing in it. But the older I get and the more theme parks become the place where I feel most alive the more I start to think we’ve misunderstood queues completely. Because a queue isn’t just waiting.
