The Amla Tree
_Katyayni

My mother planted it when I was one;
She believed it would relieve
my pain which begun;
Day by day it grew in my entrance lobby;
Absorbing sunshine was its hobby

After a year it grew and bloomed;
Giving flowers and buds my mother assumed.
By the time I was three;
Enjoyed watching it bloom with glee....

Next year it again bloomed;
But this time it got doomed.
My grandfather said it needs to be troomed;
But my mother said "No, it will bloom".

Finally,
Next year it bloomed with spring, By this time the result was expecting.
But oh! sad fate, the result didn't came out;
Now, people were prepared to cut it out.

But, but, but
Amla Tree exceeded everyone's expectations; -
It gave buds of fruits on the day on which;
it was destined to be cut.
Everyone was happy and enjoyed its fruits;
We did celebrations in joys of its buds.

Now,
The time passed and it was indeed;
The years of its' joy.
We made memories with it;
Under its large roofs stayed the groups of mischievious boys.

We planned picnics beneath it;
And holy rituals they say;
We planned its wedding with the holy Tulsi;
On the occasion of Kartik sud (Tulsi vivah);
As lord vishnu is believed to stay in Amla's roots.

I got healed by its magical Amla fruit;
It fulfilled the desires, for which it've gotten root.
Now, we'd let koyals and kabutars enjoy its shelter;
For, they now've had their complete family under its shelter.

By the time I was twelve;
My home upgraded, but Amla degraded.
The fancy tiles in the lobby covered & choked its roots;
But the *Amla Tree* laid there helpless and moob.

The drain water punctured its roots.
The tree under which we planned picnics;
Now had the skeleton leaves, trunks and roots.
Everybody said that the tree was okay;
But I knew it said "Is it okay not to be okay?

I tried to save it;
By digging the fancy floor....
But everybody acted as though;
"Oxygen is less precious than the poisonous floor."

Now comes the climax...
By the time I was thirteen and quarter;
Even the skeleton leaves got it over.
As everybody always ready weapons;
Now finally cut it off
with the hands of demon.🍁🍃

Wait, wait, wait;
Did you think the story got over,
Cuz' then you're wrong....
Amla tree showed again its magic;
As it did in begun.

Despite of all the demonic attempts;
Demons were not able to cut it off completely from roots.
The left (rest) part, of the tree;
Produced leaves and branches as it did in begun'.
Causing the tree to again bloom a bit with glee.

By the time I was nearly fourteen;
The *TREE* again caused;
My hopes to begin.
As the branches were getting higher....
I decided to protect and cherish it;
No matter what the conditions were, for;
*FOREVER*.🌳♾️
