"WHERE THE HECK DID RECD GO" UPDATE! TL;DR, been a wild month, had a minor surgery & my car broke down, but I'm fine now & I'm back with LOTS of new songs on the way! First off, EATIN RATS RADICAL REMIX is FINALLY dropping THIS COMING FRIDAY! I'll try to have a little preview up for yall earlier in the week :)
The previously-announced "OVERTIME" will be picking up in development over the next month, and should hopefully still be out sometime this summer! It's got a huge amount of characters involved (even more than I'm-a Outta Here!), so please be patient as it chugs along.
Next, a NEW ANNOUNCEMENT! Deltarune Chapter 5 came out this week, and it's got me just as obsessed as everyone else - so I've already written USED UP, a 6-MINUTE LONG ORIGINAL NUMBER inspired by Chapter 5's Weird Route, featuring the return of Noelle from PROCEED! This number focuses on Noelle's day at the Festival with Susie, as well as the difficult decisions she has to make (and doesn't get to make!) due to Kris "changing". USED UP will be zooming into production & hopefully be out in Summer 2026 as well, and on top of that, PROCEED should finally be heading to streaming in the coming weeks, too!
Off the channel, there are several exciting upcoming collabs! For the Pizza Tower fans, I will be playing Peppino Spaghetti in EddieFRB's upcoming "PEPPINO VS. SUCTION CUP MAN" Rap Battle! This one was a joy to record and probably the angriest I've EVER pushed the Peppino voice, so look forward to that when it's out!
In addition to that, I can FINALLY say that GAME ON has completed storyboarding and is moving on to voice acting/animation (which INUbis announced earlier today & showed some boards off from!) - this 30+ minute long TITAN of a cartoon episode I co-wrote with INU has some of my most intricate writing yet, and I will of course be reprising Catnap, Dogday and Icky Licky for the production. I'm even helping out with some music this time, too! No idea when it'll be done, but it'll be worth the wait. I've still got one more critter song coming to be announced later this year, too, so Critters Fans will have plenty to feast upon in time.
I've also, of course, been VERY busy with Indigo Park. Can't say too much yet due to NDAs, but y'all have a LOT to be excited for in terms of my music, writing & VA work for that when Chapter 2 is finally out.
Thank you all so much for watching and listening to my music this year, old and new. I'm truly blessed to be able to do this for a living, and I couldn't without all of you!
RecD Mega Update! We've got a lot of new stuff on the way in the coming months! While this isn't ALL the videos I have planned this year, here's the spread I'm looking at going into summer!
First off, our Cult of the Lamb Woolhaven fansong, PRAISE THE WOOL, is finally going to get released! The song follows the Lamb inducting a new member into the cult, highlighting the strangeness and difficulties of its members and traditions as Lamb tries to fit them in.
This one was planned to come out before April, until the last panel artist (and I kid you not) tripped on a mango and broke their ankle - then the artist that took up the job to get it done ALSO got sick and had to fight through that just to finish it. The production curse was strong with this one, BUT we pushed through in the end and the track should be coming within the next week. Look out for a preview short and an eventual full upload!
Next up is a REMIX of the banger Mewgenics track, Eatin' Rats! Those that know me know I adore Edmund McMillen's games (3000+ hours in Isaac and counting) so I was IMMEDIATELY on Mewgenics once it dropped. In no time I had all the music stuck in my head, and thru a combination of twitter suggestions and the fandom's quiet hunger to hear the Rap Rat/Funk E. Cheese voice one more time, I cooked up a neat little remix of the first boss theme from the perspective of Radical Rat himself with new lyrics and arrangement quirks! This one will be a fairly small video that's mostly gameplay with a little bit of art, so we should be able to release it later in May.
Finally, let's talk Frickbears 3. This game came out of NOWHERE and stunned me with how well it was designed and how genuinely FUN it made the FNAF Formula. On top of that, it's got super endearing character designs & writing, and its already-comical nature made it the perfect candidate for another RecD FNAF song to follow the silliness of Springtrap's My Dad - thus, OVERTIME was born, a fansong focused on the Lunatic Difficulty Nightguard Fritz outright ADORING the technical wizardry of the crazy animatronics constantly trying to jumpscare him - and the animatronics' confusion and genuine fear at the roles somehow feeling reversed. Don't have a proper ETA for this one yet as it's a bit more indepth and plot-driven than eatin rats remix, but look forward to it sometime in the summer!
Outside projects! GAME ON is progressing well on Inu's channel, and I'll be contributing a good amount to it musically, on top of cowriting it and reprising my roles as dogday, catnap and icky! Look forward to that one...when it's done. It is UNBELIEVABLY long and will take ages but will be worth the wait. And when it IS finally done, perhaps I will have yet one more surprise for you involving the critters...
Indigo Park development is also going well and I can't wait to tell you more about Chapter 2 once it's ready! For now tho, just rest assured your buddy Rambley can't wait to see you again.
Thanks so much for continuing to watch my silly music videos after all these years. I am truly blessed to be able to entertain y'all for a living and cannot wait for you to see (and hear) what we've got cooking next.
Thank you all for your incredibly warm reception to Take A Run! A lot of people have been asking for it on Spotify & while it took a few days due to some confusion with the final mix, I'm happy to say Take A Run AND it's instrumental are now available there! Links to the official Spotify release & other future releases of the song on other music streaming apps/stores below & in the description of the YouTube video: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/recd/take-a-run-2
(Praise the Wool, our Cult of the Lamb song, is still coming btw, just has had a longer production time than expected. I'll be taking a rest over the weekend but I'll be back in the studio cooking up more music next week!)
RECD 2026 TURBO UPDATE! Sorry to have been so quiet during January, I caught a really nasty cold at MAGFest and spent most of the month sick...then dealing with a huge snowstorm. Thankfully, February has been far more productive already! Within the past week, I've managed to fully arrange TWO songs that are now entering the art phase of production: I'M-A OUTTA HERE, the long-promised Pizza Tower Bye Bye There Original Song inspired by Sonic R & 90s Eurobeat, and PRAISE THE WOOL, a Cult of the Lamb Original Song inspired by 60s Sunshine Pop! "I'm-A Outta Here" has been in development for a few months, but "Praise The Wool" was first demoed all the way back in 2022! It has been updated and improved considerably from that original demo, rest assured.
As they'll be entering production at the same time, I can't guarantee which of these two songs will be done first, but they're both around 4 and a half minutes long, and should both be out before April 1st! Why that day in particular? For the past two years, both my team AND fans have been begging for a FULL LENGTH version of Take A Run (The comedic swapped version of Take A Rest where Dogday has Wake-Up Gas Breath instead of Catnap's Sleeping gas), and I can't think of a more perfect day to finally make it happen than April Fools. At this point, unless I get significant new ideas, this will be our final Smiling Critters number on the channel - though there will ALSO be a massive, TV-length series finale releasing on INUBIS' channel that I co-wrote and will be reprising all my roles for, so Critters fans still have a LOT to look forward to!
Beyond those three tracks, there's some music you'll be waiting for a little longer. As you may know, I'm the lead writer, Voice Director, voice of Lloyd & Isaac Indigo, and most importantly one of the main composers for Indigo Park, and Chapter 2 has been in full swing for awhile now! I've been working on tons of different tracks for the game. You've heard some already if you saw our newest Gameplay Trailer & the "Mollie Ahoy" intro - I scored both (with Longestsoloever playing Live Guitar on the Mollie Ahoy theme.) As for the rest of my musical contributions to the game, you'll be able to hear all at once when the game is finally ready later this year. I know it sucks to say so little about exactly what that music will be, but trust me - you won't be disappointed, and the surprise will be worth it. And hey - maybe there's even more surprises in store than I can say right now?
On a smaller note, I'll be at ZENKAIKON in March! I don't have a panel planned or anything, but it's become an annual one for me, so feel free to say hey if you spot me walking around (or staring intently at some bizarre retro game you've never heard of in the dealer's room...probably that one.)
Last but not least, I'll be streaming MEWGENICS this Friday and POPPY PLAYTIME CHAPTER 5 day one when it releases next week on the 18th, so look forward to those live on this very channel!
Thank you all for your continued support through the years. I am truly blessed to have all of you listening, and truly excited for you to hear what comes next!
For those of you who didn't know, I used to work for Sonic Paradox as my main gig many years ago, where I animated "Bride Zone" for Sonic Shorts Volume 8 and wrote/directed "Seaside Denied" and "Metropolis Mayhem"...as well as Casino Calamity, a 12+ minute long third episode in the Sonic Heroes Musical series that never saw the light of day. That is, until TODAY.
CASINO CALAMITY is finally out, thanks to the incredible talent of a new generation of Sonic Paradox animators, as well as the persistence of new directors and producers Ter0nik, Mathias Silvers, TheWax & Dr. Mack Foxx with the same script I wrote and vocals I recorded/directed all the way back in 2013! Check it out and enjoy my first ever insanely ambitious project, at last given form!
Happy New Year! Ring it in with....Christmas? Why not! INUbis decided to reanimate the Nightmare Critters' verse from "Catnap Claus" with most of them being awake to get their gifts, and some super wacky cartoon hijinks ensue. Check it out!
2025 is almost over! As is tradition, tomorrow (New Year's Eve) We'll be launching a countdown stream at 7PM EST where we talk about all the videos that dropped on the RecD channel this year, along with production, behind the scenes, etc - if you're interested in how RecD Music Videos come together, or if you just want to join us to count down the clock to 2026, I'm looking forward to seeing you there! Thank you for all the support in 2025, and here's to 2026 being even better! IMHO, it 100% will be since Indigo Park Chapter 2 and many other fun things finally get to happen then ;)
Merry Christmas! Here's your present from me & the RecD crew: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSVca... - that's right, CATNAP CLAUS, our Jolliest Smiling Critters song ever, is out! Have you seen it yet? What would YOU ask Catnap Claus for?
SURPRISE! I'll be at @MAGFest along with several members of the RecD crew (Corey Beepington, Cyan, Fossil, Chili & JOnline) - and we're doing a PANEL on how to make a Nerdcore Music Video that tells a story! We'll be going thru the entire process of how RecD videos get made from beginning to end, and how the deeper stories you've come to expect from this channel factor into that production - including some of our big hits like Take A Rest, Rambley Review and FNF Musical! Be sure to stop by if you can, it's gonna be a blast!
(MAGFest plans to record and upload all panels to their channel now, so y'all at home will be able to take a peek behind the scenes, too!)
