Our Lord is always working and active in our lives but still we sway away in our thoughts even for our day to day needs.
What will be the breakfast for tomorrow; what for the afternoon and again for dinner: We as wives and mothers especially dwell more on such wants. We know God provides but still the doubt, the uncertainty about tomorrow.
And all this while He is there in our boat with us. “But we have only a loaf of bread, how can this be sufficient for all of us”. Mark 14:17-18 And becoming aware of it, Jesus said to them “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you have eyes, and fail to see? Do you have ears, and fail to hear?”
He admonishes them for little faith despite the miracles they saw a few days back when with five loaves he fed five thousand and collected twelve baskets full of broken pieces; and then with seven for the four thousand and collecting seven baskets full of broken pieces.
Here the one thing that struck me was with five he fed five thousand but with seven he fed four thousand and collected only seven basketful compared to the twelve when he fed the five thousand.
"My power is made perfect in weakness" is a promise from 2 Corinthians 12:9 where God tells the Apostle Paul that His grace is sufficient, and His strength is most fully realized when human strength fails.
This means that personal limitations, vulnerabilities, or struggles provide the platform for God's power to operate and shine the brightest.
Some of us may not be aware of the presence of our Lord with us but even those who are aware of it; would we rather submit to Him for all of our needs and be secure in Him or time and again make him wonder at our doubting faith in Him.
May He provide us with the grace to feed on the bread that gives eternal life (John 6:35)
