What most non E60 M5 owners must imagine the ownership experience looks like, after doing 5 mins research online

Although we’re hardcore BMW (V10) over on this channel, maybe I should stop being so prejudice for once in my life, and more inclusive of some other retro classics?
Would this be something you guys would be into, or more like F-this guy now, unsubscribe ?

Guys, it’s been going strong for 21 years now, with 137,000 km’s on the clock.
Can someone please advise when does the unreliability start ? 🤷♂️

Driving an E60 M5 takes some discipline & patience. You gotta wait for that 10W60 oil to warm up before you rev it out and give that S85 a thrashing!
Today I realised, the fuel gauge sometimes moves quicker clockwise than the oil temp gauge move anti-clockwise, waiting for that 10W60 to get some temperature through it 😐

How are all you S85 owners liking the current petrol prices?
Good job when you hear the V10 screaming at 8250 rpm, that no longer matters!

When a car company contracts a praying mantis to lead the design team on interior door handle placement!
This always bothered me about the E30’s 🤨
(and yes, I know the idea is meant to be that you open it with your opposite hand, but literally no one on planet earth opens a car door with the opposite hand!!!)

Coolant change to do on the E30, thought I’d get a new expansion tank as the 35 year original is no longer transparent.
Bought an aftermarket one at a fraction of the price of a genuine one, after reading the label I’ve got a horrible feeling I’m going to find out why!
What do you guys reckon, do fit this, or go buy a genuine one (I’m guessing that will be made in Germany) ?

The M42 in the BMW E30 318is is looking ridiculously clean inside, I’d like to keep it this way!
Planning on giving it an oil change soon, I’d be interested to hear what oil are you 318is guys using and what change intervals are you running?

Found this interesting page amongst the original documentation that came with the E30.
Pretty well optioned cosmetic wise, but relatively still a stripped out model compared to the likes of the 325i, making it even lighter!
$65,000 NZD back in ‘90 would have been big money, would have been ballin’ back then if you sprung for the sweet optional 10 disc cd changer too!
Non the less, the car still rips today!

When you’ve been sold a lie with the E60 M5, and it turns out it isn’t an unreliable car. So you buy an old school BMW with issues so you have something to work on 🤷🏻♂️
