😈The Devil Went Down to Georgia...😈

👉On this day in 1979, The Charlie Daniels Band released their acclaimed song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." Daniels was inspired to write the song when he realized that the album he and his band had been recording was lacking a song that featured fiddle. He wrote the song on the spot at the studio where the band was recording! When Johnny's turn comes around in the song, each line said out loud is actually a reference to a classic fiddle tune, like "Fire On The Mountain" and "Granny Will Your Dog Bite." The Devils part, on the other hand, was described by Daniels as "just a bunch of noise."

🎭Comedy Goes Digital!🎭

👉On this day in 1985, Weird Al Yankovic made history with "Dare to Be Stupid", the first album of comedic music ever released on compact disc. The lead single on the album was actually partly inspired by Madonna herself! Although Yankovic normally refuses to parody ideas from other people, Madonna asked one of her friends how long it would take for Al to satirize her song "Like a Virgin" into "Like a Surgeon." This friend was close to Al's manager, and when word got back to Yankovic, he decided it was a good idea and wrote the song!

Their debut album "Unknown Pleasures" became a international hit, often being known as the first band in the post-punk movement to emphasize mood and expression over anger and energy. Their melancholy vibes continued after lead singer Ian Curtis passed away when the surviving band members renamed themselves to New Order.
