Welcome to The Round Mound of Zepbound—my vlog documenting my weight loss and health journey with GLP-1 medication, Zepbound (tirzepatide). I’m a former decorated D1 college football player who battled injuries, surgeries, and weight gain from years at a desk job. I went from a playing weight of 245 lbs to a peak of 358 lbs.
After bariatric surgery, diet struggles, and pandemic setbacks, I turned to GLP-1s. Since then, I’ve lost 117 lbs (315 to 198), reversing sleep apnea, insulin resistance, prediabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol.
I’m also fighting—and currently winning—my battle with prostate cancer. My goal is to inspire men to take charge of their health and share honest conversations about the challenges we face.

Diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy while serving in the USAF in 2009, @TheActualKingSmith has spent over 15 years navigating weight management with a heart condition that limits how hard he can physically push himself. Shortness of breath isn't a bad day for King — it's Tuesday.
At 40, a defibrillator was implanted after minor AFIB episodes began. That moment changed how he saw his own mortality — and lit a fire under a decision that had been years in the making.
In February 2025, his cardiologist recommended a GLP-1 receptor agonist. Seven months later, after fighting through the access and coverage hurdles so many patients face, King started Zepbound. He weighed 288 lbs. He is now down to 242 — 46 pounds gone, and a 225 lb shirtless reveal waiting on the other side.

Lavoy started Zepbound in May 2024 at 357 lbs. By May 2025, he had lost 110 lbs — reaching 247 lbs in just one year. But in November 2024, he received a letter that would change everything: his insurance was dropping his Zepbound coverage effective January 1, 2025.
Skeptical of compounded GLP-1s at the time, he took his last Zepbound shot in May 2025 — and like so many in the GLP-1 community, the weight came back. By the time he restarted, he was back to 306 lbs.
In February 2026, Lavoy made the decision to start compounded tirzepatide. He's now back down to 290 lbs and moving forward — with a new perspective, hard-won experience, and a story that a lot of people in this community need to hear.

At his heaviest, Larry weighed 323 lbs. Today, he's in the middle of one of the most meaningful transformations of his life, fueled not just by Zepbound, but by something far deeper: a promise to his late mother, who — even in her final moments — never stopped pushing him to become the man she knew he could be.
In this episode of Healthy MENtality Live, Larry opens up about the emotional roots of his weight struggle, what it feels like to finally break the cycle, the role GLP-1 medication played, and why he still wakes up at 3:00 a.m. every morning to work out. This one hits different. Don't miss it.
