Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
What Jesus did for all of mankind can not be taken lightly. Shedding his blood on the cross and paying for the debt of our sins. Jesus suffered for our salvation. The Jewish crowd and Jewish leaders in Jerusalem mocked, ridiculed and tortured Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ only ever displayed God’s divine love. Jesus was devoted to providing for the physical needs of men, women and children. Healing blindness, filling their stomachs with food, cleansing the temple, calming fears and storms, curing a man suffering with leprosy, raising the dead, casting out demons, and ultimately resurrected all for us— simply for us to believe in Him and have everlasting life. Through him that is possible. First, we must be Born Again.
The humility for Jesus to wash his disciples feet is incredible. It shows that no master is greater than the servant. And no master or servant is greater than the Almighty. Always being humble is the key to obedience.
The last meal Jesus ate with his disciples before his betrayal and arrest. It was also a Passover meal. This meal was to commemorate and honor what he was about to do on behalf of all mankind. This marks the sign of a New Covenant with all of God’s people. I wonder how Jesus was really feeling? A true believer knows.
Jesus shows some vulnerability here, explaining to Peter that his heart felt sorrowful and how he must pray for renewal. Jesus’ message is powerful— warning all about temptation, that even though the spirit is willing, the flesh is weak. Jesus knows his time is shortening.
In this story, A son asks for his fathers inheritance, then unfortunately squanders it recklessly pursuing a worldly life of indulgence. However, upon returning at his father’s house (with almost nothing) his elder father runs to him with open arms, embracing his beloved child at once. His father is overwhelmed with joy at his son’s return and holds a feast in his son’s honor. The son is back and in result he had become closer to the love of God.
The Moral of this story is so profound. The Kingdom of God is accessible to all, even those who may be considered outcasts by societal means. Jesus uses the example of a shepherd (whom represents God) who has 100 sheep before one goes missing. It is explained that the shepherd leaves the 99 others and searches high and low for the lost sheep until it is found. Once found, the shepherd rejoices. The one sheep who goes astray is just as important as the sheep that did not. Jesus is describing such endless compassion and love towards God’s people. Jesus is describing what it feels like to be a child of God. To be so approachable is of the most admirable. To have such power as Jesus and still bring joy, laughter and love to the children is certainly most commendable
Jesus enters Jairus’ house where his daughter lies on her death bed. Upon seeing this, Jesus said, “the girl is not dead but sleeping.” Before taking the girl by the hand and helping her rise to her feet.
