I’ll be honest… I really wasn’t sure what to expect going into this one after Superman, but I definitely had a lot to say once I left the cinema.

In my spoiler-free review, I talk about what worked, what didn’t, the performances, the action, the CGI, and whether this is a step in the right direction for the new DC Universe.

I’ll be honest, I’m not quite as hyped for Supergirl as I was for Superman.

I liked parts of Superman, but overall I wasn’t huge on it, so I’m really interested to see how Supergirl follows up the first film in this new DC Universe.

A big reason I’m curious though is Craig Gillespie. He’s got such an interesting filmography with films like Lars and the Real Girl, I, Tonya and Cruella, so I’m fascinated to see what he brings to a character like Supergirl.

I’m actually seeing it tonight, and while my expectations aren’t through the roof, I’m definitely intrigued.

What’s the most traumatising movie you watched as a kid? 🤔

Not necessarily the scariest horror movie… I mean the film that genuinely left a mark on you for years afterwards.

For me it’s got to be:

🧵 Coraline

🧛‍♂️ The Lost Boys

I’m putting together a video revisiting the childhood movies that completely scarred me growing up, and the more I think about it, the more I’m convinced filmmakers used to have a personal vendetta against children 🤣

I genuinely cannot wait for Disclosure Day.

Steven Spielberg is one of my favourite directors of all time, easily top 3, and whenever he releases a new film it feels like an event. But when Spielberg does sci-fi? That’s when I get really excited.

It’s his bread and butter.

Some of my favourite movie experiences have come from Spielberg sci-fi films, so naturally Disclosure Day is one of my most anticipated movies of the year. I’m finally seeing it on Wednesday and I’ll have a full spoiler-free review up later in the week.

I’m trying not to get carried away, but I’m really hoping we’re about to get another Spielberg masterpiece.

I just got back from seeing Backrooms and honestly… how did a movie about empty rooms make me feel this stressed?

Such a creepy, atmospheric and genuinely unsettling horror film, and the fact Kane Parsons is only TWENTY makes it even more impressive.

Going to see The Backrooms in a couple of hours and honestly… I’m really fascinated by this whole project.

First of all… Kane Parsons directing a full movie at TWENTY years old is genuinely insane. Like… imagine making creepy YouTube videos in your bedroom and then suddenly getting handed a real budget, actors, an actual film set and being told “yeah go make a movie.” That’s kinda incredible.

I’ve only watched a few of his Backrooms videos on YouTube but they were genuinely really effective. Super unsettling, weirdly believable, and they had that horrible dream logic feeling where everything feels wrong even when technically nothing is happening.

That’s what I’m hoping the movie leans into.

I don’t need lore dumps.
I don’t need somebody explaining every single thing.
I just want a really creepy, surreal experience that feels like I accidentally walked into a nightmare and can’t find the exit for two hours.

Also really curious to see how his style translates to a full-length movie with actors because the atmosphere in those videos is already ridiculously good.

Very, very intrigued by this one.

I’ll have a full video up tomorrow night once I’ve escaped the fluorescent nightmare dimension and gathered my thoughts.

But for those of you planning to watch it — what are your expectations going in? Do you want full answers and lore… or do you want it to stay weird and unexplained?

Just uploaded my spoiler free review for The Mandalorian and Grogu and honestly… I think this might be the first Star Wars movie that made me feel absolutely nothing 😭

Not angry.
Not hyped.
Just kinda empty.

Which is such a weird thing to say because I genuinely love The Mandalorian.

Going to see The Mandalorian & Grogu tonight and I’m not gonna lie… I’m cautiously optimistic.

Which for modern Star Wars basically means I’m walking in excited while also emotionally preparing myself for at least one decision that makes me stare at the screen like “why would you do that?”

But honestly… seeing Din Djarin and Grogu on the big screen still feels kinda surreal. That part of me that loved that show is still in there somewhere hoping they absolutely nail this thing.

I’ll have a full spoiler-free review up tomorrow after I’ve had time to process whatever emotional damage or unexpected greatness happens in that cinema.

But I’m curious… what are your hopes and expectations going in?
