I’m taking this time to reflect, grieve, and be present with loved ones.

Today is my birthday 🤍 and I couldn’t think of a better day to share this video.

My 4th video on Gbemi Up Close just went live, and it’s a conversation with my husband where we talk about how we got married in the US on a budget, for less than $40.

We shared the practical details, the decisions we made, and the mindset behind it. It wasn’t fancy, but it was intentional, and it worked for us. Sometimes love is not about how much you spend, but how clear and united you are.

This video is special to me not just because it’s my birthday, but because it reflects what this channel is about. Real life, real choices, and doing things your own way even when it doesn’t look like everyone else’s.

My third video is a really special one for me 🤍

It’s my first ever solo video on this channel and others, and I honestly had to push myself a bit to hit record 😅.

In this video, I talk about my braces journey, but not just from an aesthetics angle. I shared how braces intersected with my pregnancy, my health and lifestyle, and the things that helped me stay consistent even when pregnancy hormones were doing their absolute most.

Yes, there was a very affordable wig involved and yes, it stressed me out 😂 — but beneath the humor, we talked about real things. Choosing long-term health, investing in yourself, listening to your body, and giving yourself grace during seasons that feel overwhelming.

This video really reflects what Gbemi Up Close is about. Honest conversations, growth in real time, and failing forward even when things are not neat or perfect.

I’m so excited and honestly a little nervous to finally start this channel, but we move regardless 😅.

This space was created to document my growth, not just the wins but the mistakes, the lessons, and the moments where things do not go according to plan. I truly believe in failing forward. Trying, learning, adjusting, and continuing anyway. Because if you wait to have it all figured out, you might wait forever.

Here, I’ll be sharing life as it’s happening. The challenges I’m navigating, the things I’m unlearning, the progress I’m making, and the grace it takes to keep going when perfection is not the goal. This channel is not about soft life aesthetics alone. Sometimes it is soft life, sometimes it is “ah ah, what is even going on here” life 😭.
