NOTHING BUT GOD!!!

April 2016… my mom stopped by set while I was filming (check the date on the pic because this is WILD)!

I remember that day so clearly because I knew something wasn’t right with Mama… I just couldn’t put my finger on it.

The very next year, we got the official diagnosis: dementia.

And now here I am… 10 years later. Full circle but missing her being able to be with me for another highlight of my career.

I went from being talent on someone else’s network… to being talent in my own feature film.

Currently at Las Vegas Black Film Festival on my daddy’s birthday (RIH)… just living in the moment.

God don’t miss… even when we don’t understand it at the time. He will send you a sign!

I haven’t seen these pics since 2016 and they popped up as a memory!

Today is a BIG day y’all!!

Fortuitous is screening at the Las Vegas Black Film Festival… and we’re in Vegas, soaking it all in.

I’m sharing these throwback pics of Mama and my Jesse…pure joy before dementia changed everything.

If it wasn’t for dementia… Mama would be right here with us today on the front row cuttin’ up as I play HER in the movie. 🤣

Even though we feel that absence today, I’m grateful.

And today… is bittersweet in another way. 4/23…Happy Heavenly Birthday, Daddy.

It’s no coincidence that this is happening on his birthday!!!!

I know he’s watching all of this like, “That’s my Squirt!”

Two things can be true at the same time…

My heart is full AND it aches.

But today—we celebrate.
For Mama. For Daddy. For EVERYTHING we’ve been through to get here.
