Write With Rachel

Traditional journaling tells us we have to sit quietly in a room and fill neat lines with perfectly constructed, linear sentences.

But for unique, neurodivergent, or ADHD brains, those rigid rules feel more like a brick wall than a creative release.

And for people who are visual learners, hands-on learners, or just hate the idea of sitting still, the idea of journaling sounds like busy work, a dreaded chore or something you'd rather say you did but didn't.

Tomorrow, I am launching a brand-new kickoff video to introduce you to The Journall Method™ The name honors the old world spelling of journal, which was simply to keep a record + naturally brings out the concept of all. Self expression for all.

In Monday's kickoff video, we are going to explore how you can record your days and release your emotions through:

Voice: Speaking freely into voice notes

Art: Sketching abstract shapes and symbols

Reflections: Capturing the sounds and shapes of the world around you

Movement: Physically processing feelings through music and flow

Text: Creating a book that works for you...bullet points, perfect handwriting, messy abbreviations, typing, using a computer, your phone or your favorite app.

The next time your therapist says "maybe you should journal about it," maybe you can JOURNALL about it instead.

Write a song, draw a picture, speak into a voice app, record the birds singing outside, make a YouTube short, dance, write a secret message.

Here's the transformation of my art today. Vids added the magic wand and the frog! They slimmed down my witch, gave her more animated features and made her hair more blond that gray. But they kept my handwriting on the book, lol.

I draw all of my own art for my YouTube shorts in Procreate and then upload it to Vids (Google) for animation. It's really interesting to see how it's transformed. Here's today's cat picture that I drew versus the dancing cat you can see in today's prompt.www.youtube.com/shorts/9mf27B...

How the "Tilt" Writing Method Works

The "tilt" writing method, popularized by writing coach "Write With Rachel" on platforms like YouTube, is an exercise where writers deliberately introduce unusual, magical, or impossible elements into a story.

It is designed to unblock creativity, build momentum, and quickly finish a draft by giving you "permissions" to break realism and keep the flow going. For a hands-on look at how the tilt technique unlocks creative permissions to keep your drafting flowing, see Rachel's video below.

Highlights:

Grant Yourself Permission: The core purpose of the tilt is to "tilt the story on its side" by letting go of strict realism. If you are stuck or overthinking the logic, the method allows you to introduce fantastical, unexplained, or surreal twists.

Prioritize Flow Over Perfection: Instead of stopping to figure out how a character realistically solves a problem, you write your way out of the corner using whatever creative or magical tool comes to mind.

Complete the Draft: The ultimate goal of this 10-minute method is to finish the story or chapter. By removing the pressure of "making sense," you can bypass your inner editor and keep the writing momentum strong.

7 Prompts About Dancing

* **The Silent Dialogue:** Describe the specific emotion your body expresses when words aren't enough to capture how you feel.
* **The Memory Lane:** Reflect on your very first memory of dancing and the pure, unfiltered sensation it sparked within you.
* **The Solitude Shift:** Explore how your movements change when you transition from dancing for an audience to dancing entirely for yourself.
* **The Sonic Texture:** Analyze how a specific song physically "pulls" on your muscles and dictates the way you occupy space.
* **The Emotional Release:** Recall a time when dancing helped you process a difficult feeling or shifted your mood from heavy to light.
* **The Physical Anchor:** Identify which part of your body feels the most alive and grounded when you are perfectly in sync with a beat.
* **The Future Flow:** Imagine the person you become when you are dancing with total confidence and describe what that version of you is thinking.
