“If it weren’t for second chances, we’d all be alone.” Forgiveness asks big things of us sometimes. It’s one of the life lessons we all must face, often many times over. And it’s through forgiveness that we experience grace, compassion, freedom. It’s how we can keep going. I pulled these cards a few days ago and had to sit with them, because the message is a big one, and it touched a deep pain inside. I’ve actively been working a lot on forgiveness this year, needing to extend it to both others and myself. Transgressions can be small and great, and the great ones can take a long time to heal from. There are countless inspirational quotes about forgiveness. We’ve all heard it said that forgiving doesn’t mean we condone the hurtful actions or words of others, but that we free ourselves from the burden of heavy emotions like anger and resentment. We give ourselves permission to move on. We open the door to peace. We begin to repair and heal. We embrace a new beginning. And the message this week is speaking to how forgiveness opens doors to a fresh start. A second bloom. A second chance. A moment of grace. It’s not too late. It’s time to regenerate and reinvent. Whatever may have been cut down in the garden of your life— a tiny bud has survived, and the time has come for it to bloom. It’s understandable that opening up to a new possibility can be scary, especially if the wound was severe. We want to protect ourselves from further pain. We can become hypervigilant and wary of others. The “Open” card reminds us that keeping our hearts “open through the extremes” of life is what allows us to have the full experience of living, of being human and mortal. But the Divine Wisdom is inviting us to trust this new bud of potential that is emerging in our lives, whatever that is for you. This takes so much courage, yes. And it offers so many rewards. There is something new and renewed presenting to us now. “Sophia”, divine wisdom, is singing us a redemption song. Our story isn’t over yet. Take the chance. 🤍
