Ever since I started this channel, a lot of people have asked me to look at their art and tell them what I think of it. I always declined, mostly because I knew I’d hate most of it and didn’t want to hurt any feelings. However, I think it could be fun to review art on stream, with an audience (on the @shawnarchist channel). You must be warned though, I’ll probably hate it and I’ll be open about hating it.*
So to submit your art for review, you can send your portfolio on the Discord server (in the submit your art here channel) or in my Instagram DMs.
The portfolio must include:
- A brief description of you. Where are you from? How long have you been doing this? Do you study? (Max half a page) - A brief description of your work(s) (it can be intention, backstory, artistic process…) - 1 to 12 visual artworks (any medium accepted; if you send many artworks, I may ignore some) Include links to your socials if you want people to check your art out
*Please be ready for your art to be hated on and please be 18+ to submit as I don’t want any harsh criticism to discourage people from making art. Feel free to send whatever artwork you want, but keep in mind that I particularly dislike:- Abstract art (as I don’t care for aesthetics or for personal objectless expression) - Furry art/OC art (or iPad art as I call it. It’s fine if you do it, you can still submit, but I have a hard time engaging with these artworks at all) - Art that solely displays technical skill. I find it particularly cold and unengaging.
They didn’t like my video on Antifa and I got a Community Guideline Strike. After negotiating with them, I have reuploaded the Antifa video and it SHOULD be fine.
That being said, it would be super appreciated if you doubled down on the algorithmic push (watch again even if you have already, like, comment whatever you want however many times you want, share with friends, family, discord servers, forums, blog pages, your Tinder profile…).
It’s a long three hour video, I put a lot of work into it, and it would be a shame if YouTube’s ‘mistake’ buried the video.Thank you!!Shawn
Soooo YouTube took down my latest videoessay on Hokusai's 19th Century P*rn.
They usually tolerate (though demonetize and age-restrict) videos with paintings containing graphic nudity, but I didn't think they'd take it down considering this is a documentary with educational purposes only.
That being said, I'm trying to appeal YouTube's decision, BUT if you want to watch the video now, it's become a Patreon exclusive! You can watch it by becoming a patron for as little as a 1$ per month!
