Midnights is looking like it’s about to win the next Taylor Swift album poll… so it only felt right to open up The Eras Pour and see what kind of chaos we could sip our way through during the reaction.

Alanna and I are planning to grab two drinks ourselves for the Midnights album reaction, but this book has a whole Midnights section with multiple cocktails inspired by the era. Some are simple. Some are fancy. Some are “why does this drink need three side quests and a small business loan?” energy.

So here’s what we’re thinking:

We’ll cover two of the cheapest options ourselves.

Available Midnights drinks:

The Guy on the Chiefs
Vodka, lemon, honey syrup, raspberries, club soda, lemon peel.
This is one of the cheapest and easiest ones, so this will likely be one of our picks.

YOYOKolada
White rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream, lime, simple syrup, matcha, frozen pineapple.
Tropical, green, chaotic, and very “we are definitely in the Midnights spiral now.” This is likely our second cheaper pick.

Tactical Tonic
Gin, Campari, tonic water, grapefruit ice cubes, grapefruit garnish.
This one sounds classy but sneaky, like a mastermind in a glass.

Sapphire Martini
Vodka, blanc vermouth, orange bitters, lemon peel, and optional caviar if we’re being unhinged.
We would probably skip the caviar unless someone really wants to send us into luxury goblin mode.

Violet Love Spiral
Gin, lemon, lavender syrup, Peychaud’s bitters, club soda, edible glitter, lemon peel, and lavender.
Probably the prettiest drink in the chapter. Very Midnights, very purple, very “somebody check on Kyle after track five.”

Scarlet Rust
Blanco tequila, lime, simple syrup, orange bitters, crème de cassis.
This one looks like heartbreak in a glass and probably tastes like dramatic eye contact.

T-Swizzle’s Tea Swizzle
Aged rum, passion fruit liqueur, lemon, black tea syrup, Angostura bitters, mint, and lemon twist.
This is one of the pricier ones because of the specialty ingredients, but it sounds ridiculous in the best way.

No pressure at all. This is just a fun way to make the Midnights reaction feel even more like an event with the Cronicans.

Every donation goes toward the drink ingredients for the reaction, and anything left over helps us keep making these album nights bigger, weirder, and more fun.

Midnights is coming.

Okay Swifties…

The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology is 2 hours and 2 minutes long.

Our reaction is 6 hours.

So honestly… I don’t even know what happened here.

Somehow Taylor gave us a double album, and we ended up with 4 extra hours of pausing, talking, reacting, laughing, trying to understand what just hit us, and slowly realizing this album was not going to let us leave the department the same way we walked in.

This is our first listen to The Anthology, and we went in with drinks in hand and emotions absolutely not ready for whatever Taylor had waiting in those extra chapters.

The full reaction drops tomorrow at 12PM PST on Patreon.

This will not be on YouTube until mid-June, because Patreon is staying one full month ahead. Once we start the next Taylor album over there, The Anthology will begin making its way to YouTube.

And speaking of the next Taylor album, that is still undecided.
