✋🏻Greetings from Acute Rehab!✋🏻
Just wanted to update you all after being in the rehab facility for the better part of a week.
After an accidental fall at home, I was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. There I had surgery for the breaks in my Tibia and Fibula bones in my right leg.
After several days of recovery in that hospital, I was blessed enough to be accepted at an acute rehab facility about an hour away from home.
I’ve been working hard in physical and occupational therapies. Learning to walk again with the aid of a walking and to use a wheelchair for longer distances.
The biggest obstacle to returning home was a set of 12 steps going up to my bedroom at home… and today…. I DID IT! Using the aid of practice stairs and other tools I was able to simulate the act up going up and down the stairs on my butt. As well as standing to walker and wheelchair from said stairs!!
I feel like 10,000 pounds has literally been lifted from my shoulders today and am very proud of where I am just 9 days after surgery!
I love and miss you all and look forward to returning to YouTube as soon as I am ready. Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support! Each message warms my heart and keeps me push forward towards healing! 🤟🏻
