I’ve been hurt by people who once felt like home betrayed by someone I trusted, pushed out of a place that used to feel safe. For a long time, I carried that pain like it was my fault, like I somehow deserved the way they left without looking back.
under this warm light, I’m choosing to let a little of that weight go. This lantern holds the pieces of the past I’m finally ready to release the broken promises, the manipulation, the people who only stayed when it benefited them.
I’m still healing, still rebuilding, still learning how to breathe again… but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. My story didn’t end where they left me. I’m growing brighter, stronger, and no longer carrying what was never mine.
