Starting in the 1520's Paracelsus inaugurated a revolution in Alchemy and Medicine. In his Paramirum, the essay On the Matrix combines Hermetic Metaphysics with medical analysis rejecting centuries of tradition. Paracelsus argues that that the Matrix is the literal womb, the central microcosm and the process by which being is pro-created. Thus, given that the presence of the matrix specifically within women, Paracelsus inaugurates a specific "monarchy" for women's medical analysis and treatment. In its pages is one of the most confusing and tantalizing tales of how the Divine Realm or Pleroma came to be from the Primal Void.
