Today’s game: Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird is a great example of how a very simple idea can become a complete game.

The player only does one thing: tap to fly.

That’s it.

But the game becomes interesting because of timing, obstacles, score, and the constant feeling of “I can do better next time.”

This is an important lesson for beginner game developers.
Your first game does not need a big story, many characters, or complicated systems. Sometimes one simple mechanic is enough, if it is clear and fun to play.

𝗚𝗼 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝟮.𝟬 අපි පටන් ගන්නවා.

2022 economic crisis එක වෙලාවේ තමයි අපි මුලින්ම මේ project එක පටන් ගන්නේ.

මේකේ අරමුණ වුණේ ලංකාවට dollars අරගෙන එන්න පුළුවන් මට්ටමේ freelancers ලා 1000ක් train කරවන එක. ඒ project එකේදී අපි මාස 03 ක කාලයක් මෙන්න මේ subjects ගැන දැනුම දුන්නා live sessions විදියට.

මේ හැම course එකක් ම conduct කළේ Ceylon School of Game Design එකේ instructors ලා කණ්ඩායම. අපේ profiles සහ YouTube channels, FB pages වල අදටත් ඒ videos තියෙනවා.

ඉතින් රටට අත්‍යවශ්‍යම මේ වෙලාවේ අපිට පුළුවන් විදියට අපේ යුතුකම සහ වගකීම ඉටු කරන්න තමයි අපි මේ උත්සාහ කරන්නේ. මේ වතාවේ අපි කළින් වතාවටත් වඩා ශක්තිමත්. ඉතින් වටින දේවල් ගොඩක් මේ වතාවේ කරන්න පුළුවන්කම තියෙනවා, වැඩි විස්තර පස්සේ දැනුම් දෙන්නම්.

ඒ වගේම මේ වැඩේට සම්පත් දායකත්වය (knowledge sharing) දෙන්න පුළුවන් ඕනම කෙනෙක්ව අපි සාදරයෙන් පිළිගන්න සූදානම්.

එහෙනම් අලුත් දේවල් ඉගෙනගන්න කැමති අය ready වෙලා ඉන්න. ලබන සතියේ අපි program එක පටන් ගන්නවා.
