The Save Log is a collection of video essays, deep dives, and game reviews exploring the narrative themes, symbolism, characters, world design, and emotions video games leave behind. This channel is dedicated to unpacking the “why” behind the game.
Who is the ultimate Far Cry villain? 🫵 My latest video essay takes a deep dive into what makes Joseph Seed one of the most disturbing villains in the Far Cry series.
In the video, I look at Hope County, Eden’s Gate, and how Joseph weaponizes fear, faith, isolation, and desperation into absolute power. I also touch on the real-world American history that helped shape his character.
Check it out and let me know: Is Joseph Seed the franchise’s best villain, or does someone else still take that spot?
I started playing 007: First Light for the first time yesterday during early release. I only planned to play for an hour or two, just to try it out while I finish up some other games for future content.
That small detour turned into a seven-hour play session.
So far, this game has exceeded all my expectations. Yes, there is a lot of Hitman DNA here, and that is not a bad thing. But @IOInteractive also made this feel like a Bond game, with its own style, vibe, and sense of immersion.
Is it perfect? No. But if they can stick the landing, this may end up being my favorite game of 2026.
And honestly, this is a franchise I’m excited to see grow in the future, provided they stick the landing...
