The Jesus I read about never preached cruelty, exclusion, greed, nationalism, or hate. He talked about loving your neighbor, caring for the poor, welcoming the outsider, challenging hypocrisy, forgiving endlessly, and choosing compassion over judgment. It’s painful watching people twist his words to justify harm. But toxic Christians are not the measure of Christ. I refuse to let loud, hateful interpretations drown out the radical tenderness of what Jesus actually taught.
