Aldi’s Is a Complete Joke and a Total Disappointment

I went to Aldi’s today for the first time, and I’m still pissed off about it.

They took out a perfectly good Winn-Dixie — a real neighborhood grocery store I’ve shopped at for many years and actually liked — and replaced it with an Aldi’s. The moment I walked in, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. This place is literally half the size of the old Winn-Dixie. Half!

The selection is pathetic. It’s maybe a third of what used to be there. I didn’t recognize a single brand I normally buy. Everything is cheap off-brands I’ve never heard of. I couldn’t find any of the things I actually wanted.

The shelves look like a complete mess. Nothing is organized. Everything is just thrown around and disheveled. The frozen food section is tiny, the canned goods selection is almost nonexistent, and even the meat is packaged in that nasty nitrogen-packed plastic that Walmart stopped using because customers hated it.

This isn’t a grocery store. It’s a discount center. A flea market with food. You can’t go in there with a normal shopping list and expect to get what you need. It’s only good if you want random cheap items and don’t care what brand they are.

I walked the entire store and left with nothing. I’m extremely disappointed and honestly angry that they took away a real grocery store and put this garbage in its place. I have no reason to go back!

Now I have to fight the crowds at Walmart every single time I need basic groceries because our neighborhood no longer has an actual grocery store. Thanks for nothing, Aldi’s.

WE ARE LIVE NOW - Dangerous Severe Weather Outbreak Underway Across Nebraska and the Central Plains


A significant severe weather event is unfolding right now across the Central United States, with Nebraska bearing the brunt of a powerful line of supercell thunderstorms capable of producing strong tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds.


As of this evening, the National Weather Service has issued a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Tornado Warning — one of the highest levels of urgency — for portions of central Nebraska. Trained storm spotters have confirmed a large and extremely dangerous tornado near Dannebrog and St. Libory, approximately 15 miles north of Grand Island. The tornado is moving northeast at around 45 mph, threatening Nance, Merrick, Polk, and Howard counties.
