JQ - Life in China

Hi everyone, I'm JQ.

I’m currently editing my new video, and it should be ready to meet you all soon!

In this video, I'll update you on the results of my lawsuit against the bank. I’ll also take you along as I spend a weekend. The weekend was really special, I felt like I’d stepped into a time machine. I had so much legendary traditional food and experienced so many interesting things!

I visited the local old town that many people may think of as a slum, as well as a commercial district just a 15-minute walk away. Even though they’re so close, the weekend life in these two places are completely different. The old town feel like China in the ‘80s and ‘90s , it still holds onto old ways of living and doing business. The commercial district, on the other hand, is modern, it's a place where parents take their kids for fun and young people hang out and socialize.

This video is going to be very long, because I couldn’t bring myself to leave anything out. The footage is real and interesting, and it feels very meaningful to me. But I’m not sure if you’ll like such a long video, it might be a torture of your patience, haha.

Since I’ve had quite a bit of freelance work recently, I haven’t had much time to upload new YouTube videos. It’s been a while since my last update, so I couldn’t wait to post a little trailer.

See you soon!
Thank you all for your care and support.

JQ - Life in China

Hi, Everyone, This is JQ.

Thank you to everyone who cared and asked about my mom and dad, so today I plan to share an update.

The footage my mom and dad shot themselves isn't very clear, so please bear with me.

It's been over a month since I left my hometown and returned to Guangdong. My parents and I have a family group chat on a messaging app, and we have happy conversations once or twice a week.

So these are the most recent updates from their lives that they shared with me. The day before yesterday, my dad went fishing and shared his catch in the group chat.

Last night, my mom performed Chinese opera on a big local stage as part of the Labor Day celebration. My mom's retirement hobby group has even appeared on local TV multiple times , she is the overall program director of their hobby group, so proud of her!

Finally, I hope everyone can relax and enjoy Labor Day, recharge your batteries for the journey ahead.

JQ - Life in China

Hello everyone, This is JQ.

I have a question. When your parents grow old, do they slowly lose their passion for life?

Hobbies drop away, one by one. They don't want to go anywhere. Every day, they just sit on the sofa at home, scrolling through short videos. It gets harder and harder to find things that truly excite them or bring them joy.

My dad is like that. He's always been a very traditional, old-school Chinese father.
You've seen him in my previous videos, so you probably know a little bit about him.
Now that he's 72, he has no willing to seek out the joys in life. I rarely see him genuinely interested in anything anymore, or laugh that heartfelt laugh because something truly moved him.

It wasn't like this when he was younger. He was different. He took me to so many places, movies, taught me almost every ball sport you can think of, and got me into boxing.

I guess now, it's my turn. My turn to figure out how to take him out and help him rediscover a little bit of that passion, that spark , to bring back that genuine, from-the-heart smile.

Even though money is really tight for me right now, I found a free way to take him to a special, crazy place, somewhere that has things he was really into when he was younger!

It took everything I had to convince him to go there with me. Things might not turn out exactly how I hoped, but at least I tried. You guys can tell me afterward : Should I keep doing this? Does it work?

I filmed the whole thing. But I've been sick recently, and that put me behind on a bunch of editing work I owe to clients. So I haven't had time to work on the YouTube video. I should be able to upload it in the next few days, though.

I've read so many of your comments, and I truly appreciate your kindness and care! Your opinions and thoughts mean a lot to me. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all again with a new video!

Best wishes with a lot of love,
JQ

JQ - Life in China

Hi, It's JQ

This was the first time I've been out to have fun since I got sick over ten days ago, i went to this new area to watch the Lantern Festival performances with my mom and dad.

Although my hometown is a small fifth-tier city in China, it has developed pretty quickly over the past twenty years. I come back every year or two, but I haven't really explored much. I never expected this newly developed area to be so lively! I've never been here before. The place in this video, Also my first time seeing it, so we are the same! Since I'm still not feeling great, I just captured the footages with my phone, i'm sorry if the pictures ain't clear enough.

Still, I hope that through this beautiful drone show, fireworks, and slowly soaring lanterns on this Final Day of the New Year Celebration, we can all wish for happiness, joy, and dreams come true in 2026!!!

Best wishes with a lot of love,
JQ

JQ - Life in China

Hello everyone, This is JQ!

I rushed back to my hometown, 1200 kilometers away, on New Year's Eve. I've been spending every day with my family, visiting different relatives to celebrate the New Year. There have been awkward moments, topics I'd rather avoid, and some bittersweet feelings. But most of all, there's been the joy of being together, keeping each other company, and sharing care and blessings.I couldn't ask for anything more.

What I never expected is… my life has changed so much in the past two days, because you've come into it. Although we've never met, your sincerity means more to me than that of friends I've known for many years.

First, thank you for watching and for your kindness.
I've read all your comments. I'm so grateful for your encouragement and support, and I truly appreciate you sharing your own stories with me. Some have been heartwarming, others incredibly motivating.

I started this channel hoping to let out some of the emotions and stress I’ve been holding inside, all while keeping it hidden from my family. With a bit of luck, maybe it could even help increase my income a little. I never expected to meet so many kind, lovely, helpful people, and those who share similar experiences and truly understand.

Even though I couldn't buy myself new clothes for the Chinese New Year, what you've given me is the best gift of the 2026 New Year. This almost made me cry.

I sincerely wish you all a very happy New Year!
I hope 2026 brings you health, happiness, more stable and better income, and that all your worries just fade away.
Today is the second day of the New Year Celebration, the day to welcome the God of Wealth. Here, I pray that the God of Wealth will visit and help all of us in need.

Finally, I hope we can grow together, find happiness together, and that 2026 will be the start of everything getting better.

Best wishes with a lot of love,
JQ
