Day 02: I rebuilt how learners see the OSI model.

Memorising the 7 layers is one thing remembering which layer an attack lives on (and why) is another. So I made a visual OSI cake + a full module that maps protocols → attack surfaces → hands-on projects.

What’s on the page:
• A memorable OSI cake visual (protocols on each tier).
• Layer-by-layer breakdown (definition, common attacks, famous breaches, impact).
• Hacker projects + defense projects you can build as portfolio pieces.
• Terminal-style demo that shows how simple scans reveal layer-specific issues.

Why this matters:
• Students & juniors: finish one layer project and you’ll have a story + repo to show in interviews.
• Mentors & teachers: a 5-minute explainer that students actually remember.
• Hiring managers: use the OSI map as a technical challenge, it separates talkers from doers.

Project Spotlight: Self-Destructing Python Script 🧨

I built a Python script that securely deletes itself after execution cross-platform and educational.

⚠️ Security Insight:
Potential Risk: If misused, this script could delete critical files on a device (Windows, macOS, Linux).

Attack Vector: Malicious actors could deploy it to wipe system or user data.

Defense:
Run scripts from trusted sources only
Use sandboxed environments or virtual machines
Regular backups and access controls

Purpose: Demonstrates file lifecycle handling, secure deletion, and scripting techniques in Python.

🎯 Kevin Mitnick (USA) – The World's Most Famous Hacker 🔥

Rap Anthem for Kevin Mitnick: https://youtu.be/VRinD5i_fiQ

Kevin Mitnick wasn't just a hacker, he was a legend who turned his digital rebellion into a worldwide story of transformation. Once the most-wanted cybercriminal in the U.S., Kevin showed the world how powerful a keyboard can truly be.

💻 Infamous Hacking Attacks:
‣ Broke into systems of tech giants like Nokia, Motorola, IBM, and Sun Microsystems.
‣ Stole proprietary source code and software, not for profit, but purely for the challenge.
‣ He used social engineering (human hacking) as his most lethal weapon, tricking employees into giving him passwords and access.

💥 Major Losses:
‣ His hacks led to millions in damages.
‣ He was eventually arrested by the FBI in 1995, after a high-profile cyber chase.
‣ Spent 5 years in prison, with 8 months in solitary confinement, they feared he could launch a nuclear missile by whistling into a phone! 😱

🛡️ Redemption & Rise:
After his release, Kevin reinvented himself as a top cybersecurity consultant, author, and speaker. He founded Mitnick Security and advised Fortune 500 companies and government agencies on how to stay safe from the very tactics he once used.

🚀 Inspiration to the Youth:
Mitnick proved that even the most rebellious minds can transform into protectors. His journey teaches us:
✔️ Hack to secure, not to exploit
✔️ Curiosity can lead to innovation
✔️ Redemption is always possible with the right intent

⚡ Kevin Mitnick passed away in 2023, but his legacy lives on in every ethical hacker who turns curiosity into cyber defense.

💡 From outlaw to legend, Kevin's story shows us that the same skills that break systems can also protect the world.
