Hi and thank you for stopping by. We are Dean & Sara and we had been dreaming of an end to corporate suburban life for some time so when the opportunity presented itself, we opted to sell our home and the majority of our belongings. We hooked a travel trailer up to our truck and set out to explore the Southwest and build a homestead.
We knew we wanted something different in life. A life more grounded in the fundamentals and responsibility for our own sustainability.
We found land in beautiful SW Colorado and built our first homestead from the scratch.... all the things! We have now moved our homesteading life to Southern Virginia and are starting a brand-new chapter.
We are excited to share our homestead adventures with you and hope you will subscribe and come along with us! We love sharing this life with you!

So, I’m a bit frustrated this morning. It doesn’t help that I’m tired either. I edited a video in the truck yesterday (interesting) and when we got to the RV resort late last night the video I edited in the software was gone. I don’t know why. I did it again and the upload is holding in YouTube because we are on the road again. Hoping to get to TN at a decent hour tonight so the upload can finish. I have a lot of footage and am working to get it to you. I promise. 🌻

Hi Friends! Dean and I have been staying in our trailer on the property since Friday and the Starlink connection doesn’t reach that far. Tonight is our last night on Rugged Mountain Homestead, CO. I’m editing a new video and hope to run up to the cabin and get it up before we hit the road! We will have internet at our stops so I hope to have a lot of footage to share with you. I finally did it! I got the 15lb. turkey dealt with. It gave us two dinner plates, two premade dinners for Dean and 5 quarts of turkey in broth and 2 quarts of just broth. I have never been so happy to see the freezer emptying out!
