Frank from Franklin: Part 2

ITS SO LONG BUR WORTH IT TRUST

It had been a few months, and I hadn’t been seeing, hearing or feeling anything much. Till I started trying to tap into it more. Every night, I would move my pillows, and open the blanket on the side, inviting whatever it was to rest. And it worked.

I started seeing him more. He didn’t have a name, I couldn’t think of one. But I saw him more and more often. At night, I go upstairs to plug in my phone, and get water. And I see him. He isn’t lurking in a corner, on the walls or the ceiling. He’s leaning on a counter, not a care in the world, relaxed. This happens every few days, and it’s never the same spot.

It was just before halloween, when I had given more thought to his name. I started feeling and seeing him since we went to the Franklin battlefield. So why not call him Frank?

Another time I saw him was in my room. My room is small, barely any floor space. I had walked in, and turned on the lights, where he stood in the corner. Clear as day, but was gone the second I blinked.

I don’t know what to think of this next story, and considering the possibility there’s more than one, but why the hell not. I was playing mine craft in the living room and my mom was leaning over the counter diagonal of my vision. She wasn’t on her phone, she was just watching. The time was 11:16 when I heard her voice. She was mad. Telling me it’s time to go to sleep. But she wasn’t leaning on the counter like she was a second ago. She was in the hallway, fresh from the shower. I had dropped the controller, freaked out of my head. I had told her she had been watching me, but she had denied it, saying she was in the shower the whole time.

This was like an hour before the one right above. But I had just started up the game console, and I looked over to the kitchenette of the air bnb we were staying at. When aam around 5’10, with big arms (kinda not insane) came walking to me. He was pure shadow, no face, just a filled outline of a man. I thought it was my dad, till he disappeared right from my eyes. I didn’t even blink, he just left.

It had been a few months. Past my birthday, around April 20th-23rd. A whole lot of my moms side was staying in a castle, for a wedding. Frank had been absent for a long time. I didn’t know how spiritual connection really worked, but I knee he’d be back soon. And I was right.

Where my room was didn’t have good Wi-Fi connection, so I went downstairs to sit in one of the rooms, so I could watch Supernatural. It was the welcoming night, and I had left to shower an hour before. And people were laughing, talking and drinking. A couple had walked up to me, asking what I was watching, and they were so happy, talking about how the girl made him binge it all. Then he decided to indirectly spoil it. And oh I was pissed. I won’t say what he said because I love you Stefie.

I had huffed and rolled my eyes as they left, and I started the episode up again. Then my air pods disconnected. I reconnected them, but then felt two hands on my head. I looked back, expecting my uncle, but nobody was there. And he was back. I was glad, it had been a long time, I was almost worried.

This last one was 1-2 months ago, very recent. I like to say me and Frank have become good friends. I’ve made his side the left side of my bed. And that’s where I feel, or sense him the most. I was playing Uncharted 1, my back rested on my back wall. I hadn’t showered yet, and I was in my bucky shirt and Calvin Klein shorts my older sister gave me. I had stopped playing to take a breather and drink some water, when I felt a hand on my shoulder, rubbing my trap and down my left arm. It had been a while since this had happened (last time was in the castle), so it spooked me for a second, till I realized it was from the left side. Franks side. This does happen every few days, depending on what I’m doing.

When I saw recent I mean last week. My family and I were sitting in this restaurant, waiting for our food, and an arm slipped around my waist. It was small, but that one spot cooled, and tingled as if your hand or foot was falling asleep. That’s how it always felt.

I like to say I’m very spiritual. I know some witchcraft, manifestations, some stuff like that. Basic stuff. Meditating helps me collect my thoughts and theories on Frank. My mom believes he was a younger soldier, who died in the battlefield. But my sister, thinks he might be some old creep, who also was in the war. I personally think he was early 20’s during the war. No more than 27. But every day is something new. A new tingly feeling on my hands, my headphones will disconnect every once in awhile, or I cool down or my shoulders relax more. Every few days I’ll sense him besides me, wether I’m in bed reading, getting a drink, or playing video games. There’s always that shoulder rub, head pat, or an arm around my waist.

Wether I like it or not (I love it), Frank is part of my life now. It’s someone I know has to listen, and when I feel alone, I know he’s there.

Frank from Franklin: Part 1 (its long af)

It was late September, 2025. We were driving through Franklin Tennessee to go to some battlefield that had bullet holes in the walls. I had lazily put on my bucky barnes shirt I go from hot topic, and we drove 40 minutes to the battlefield, where the Carter house stood.

I wandered alone, around the house and found a spot to sit in the field (around the teal dot). I hummed to myself as I picked at the grass. I shut my eyes for a few minutes and when I opened them, my mom was standing over at me, telling me it was time to go. The drive back was slow and I spent the rest of the day watching The Walking Dead with my sister. We had jut gotten past the Terminus episode, which was the only one my mom wanted to watch with us... Unfortunately.

It had been a long, boring day, and I decided to hop in the shower. I sat down, curling my knees to my chest as the boiling water flowed down my body, turning my skin a shade of my own, with red mixed around. I started washing my body with my vanilla body wash, and when I relaxed back into that curled position, I felt it.

I froze for what felt like years, as what felt like hands, rubbed circular motions on my back, as if someone was washing my back for me. It took me a bit to snap back into it, I stared talking, saying hello, as my body remained stiff. It didn’t stop, and I couldn’t feel anything missing, like a spot meant for a person. I waited a few minutes, to see if anything else would happen, then it just stopped. I took that as my cue to go the hell asleep.

When I laid in my bed that I shared with my sister, she had been sitting on the bed, watching something on her phone. I read my Winter Soldier book until my nerves calmed. We eventually put down the book and phone and shut our eyes. But it didn’t stop there.

I can’t fully remember how long we had been laying in silence, but I had told her about what happened and she didn’t really care. I felt my mind finally going to peace, till the tv started glowing. We yelped and scooted closer to each other, frozen in place as the home screen glowed from the corner of our room. We sat there for about 8 minutes, till I finally grabbed the remote, turning off the tv and covering my whole body in blankets, passing out.

That morning, I told my mom about the tv, asking her if hers turned on last night. She simply brushed me off with a no, and my older sister and I walked to the coffee shop, less than a minute away.
