Run Monster Run

When we started working on ʀᴜɴ ᴍᴏɴsᴛᴇʀ ʀᴜɴ, we had the idea of repurposing the show's assets and characters to build a small library of sʜᴏʀᴛs alongside the main series.

We brought in two incredibly talented 3D animators from Perú, Eli and Luis, shared a few ideas with them... and they worked so fast that we ended up creating several dozen Shorts!

I've seen some people wondering why we're making Shorts instead of focusing on new episodes, so I wanted to clear that up:

1. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮'𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨.
The main show is animated by Zeppelin Studios, where the full animation team is focused entirely on the series. The Shorts are made by a separate, much smaller team (Eli and Luis) working independently.

2. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙞𝙥𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩.
Once a Short is finished, we send it to Zeppelin for rendering, but only when the rendering team isn't busy with the main show. The episodes always come first.

3. 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬.
They reach new audiences, let us experiment with ideas, promote upcoming episodes, and help us learn what fans enjoy the most.

4. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙.
As the creator, it's a lot of fun to keep playing with these characters and bring new ideas to life between episodes.

5. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚.
Even though they're mostly just fun, they also let us tease character personalities, relationships, and little pieces of the world that you might recognize later.

So, in short (pun intended)... the Shorts are simply extra content for all of you to enjoy while we continue working on the series.

They're not replacing the episodes, and they don't slow production down. If anything, they help the show by bringing in more viewers, more subscribers, and more people who discover Run Monster Run... which ultimately makes the series stronger.

Just wanted to share how I’m feeling now that we’re deep into producing Episode 2.

The Pilot only scratches the surface of this world… Episode 2 is where the show really starts to reveal what it’s capable of.

What’s been surreal is that everyone who’s read or worked on it has told me the same thing: Episode 2 is even better than the Pilot. Considering the incredible response the Pilot has received, that’s both exciting and a little terrifying.

I’m giving this episode everything I’ve got to make sure the final animation lives up to what’s on the page.
