I create, make tutorials, and cover the news for all things Fortnite Creative and UEFN!

I push for innovation in the creative scene. If you haven't noticed, everything feels the same these days. I want to change that.

How exactly, you may be wondering? By making easy to intermediate tutorials for new or experienced Fortnite Creators to follow to improve their islands. I also keep you updated on the news surrounding FNC and UEFN.

Beyond tutorials, I’m the creator behind Dreamlands and Dreamlands 2 with unique characters like Joe, a humble pizza extraordinaire, and Kreply, a curious pawnshop owner. Dreamlands is a large-scale Fortnite Creative/UEFN story-driven map series. It blends cinematic storytelling, exploration, and combat with a unique lore players unravel as they progress. Dreamlands isn’t just a map, it’s a narrative experience with custom environments, dialogue, and mechanics that push UEFN beyond its limits.

So stop reading this and go watch/play some of my stuff!

Sorry I've been radio silent for the past couple of weeks!

I've actually been busier than ever. While Epic's been on their summer break, I've been spending most of my time working on Dreamlands 2 and getting a bunch of tutorials ready. I've been cooking in the lab.

Here's what's coming up

- Quests API
- Verse Field Event Parameters
- Scene Graph Cameras
- Scene Graph Skeletal Meshes
- Sidekicks (sorry this one's taken so long, I missed the callout but should be out before 23rd, had to learn verse NPC behaviour for the first time)

- A January -> June UEFN map showcase featuring 25 maps

Plus a few other videos I've been working on. Stuff like the Quests API was an absolute pain to figure out with the limited documentation, but I finally cracked it.

I also just stopped making Youtube shorts. Not sure why, but I might start doing those again.

Once the 16th update drops, expect a wave of tutorials covering whatever Epic adds, along with everything above. If there's anything else you want to see, let me know. I've finally got some free time to make videos again.

With the recently added AnimController for players, and a recent discovery in UEFN, you can now create additive player animations, aka adding animations ON TOP of Fortnite animations. It's quite powerful, and you can do some pretty immersive, or not so immersive, things with it!

Check out the tutorial below!

We got an update from Epic on the ongoing improvements to Iteration/Stability times in UEFN. Here's everything important.

⬆️Push Changes time down 40% and up to 70% down for bigger projects, thanks to incremental cooking and other things.

🐛 "We expanded developer-made island testing, tightened our regression escalation process, and improved root cause analysis. The result: significant improvements through 40.00 and 41.00, measurable across two key metrics: Defect Escape Rate (DER) and Major Defect Escapes."

You can see this in the graphic below. DER or Deflect Escape Rate basically means the percentage of bugs that aren't found. There has been about a 3x decrease in bugs slipping through! Very nice!

39% -> 12% for normal bugs
12% -> 4% for major bugs

⭐Stability Improvements in the future,

- Scene Graph
- Join-in-progress ( JIP )
- Custom UI/UMG
- Validation and publishing
- Matchmaking

Epic also said what they are actively focusing on right now,

🤖"Expanding automation coverage for Scene Graph and JIP workflows"
( So either AI assistant improvements, or they have some sort of auto-debugger )

📈"Increasing developer-scale testing earlier in release cycles"
( More dev islands are being used to spot bugs )

💪"Strengthening release review criteria for high-risk changes"
( For big changes, they are raising the bar for what is acceptable before release)

🔍"Improving visibility into known regressions and future-targeted fixes"
(So even more info on upcoming bugs and when fixes are coming

Lastly, Epic said,

"We’ll continue to be upfront about where challenges remain—developers deserve honesty about the complexity of the tools. What we can commit to is continuing to improve detection of high-impact regressions, communicating more transparently, and sharing the actual data behind the work.

Thank you for continuing to build with UEFN and for the feedback, bug reports, and stability survey responses that help shape these priorities."

Let me know what you think! There's 100 percent a lot more areas Epic need to work on, like scene graph crashes or other stability problems, but it seems we're getting there.

I'm back! A Virtual Pointers (Cursors) tutorial should be out tomorrow!

Covers UI interaction and Scene Graph editing using virtual pointers through raycasting. It's still experimental, so no publishing with it yet, but it's really cool!

Also, Unreal Fest is on the 17th! Don't forget! I won't be covering it live, but I will do a recap and give my thoughts on all the announcements quite soon after.
