As I take steps towards entering a new career away from social media, I’ve been reaching out to my friends in local politics to offer my expertise as a new media consultant.

Today was my first venture into the space.

Last year, I pitched a few event ideas to my friend and LA’s City Controller, Kenneth Mejia. As a city controller, his job is to follow government spending and report back to *us* about where are tax dollars are being spent… think a budget deep dive but 10 different people, with different wants, needs, and desires have access to your credit card 😭

Today’s event was a scavenger hunt where we follow the money. We ran all over DTLA following clues as to where our money is being spent and if it’s being spent efficiently (it’s not).

This was a fun way to engage and educate LA locals. The more we know about government spending, the more we can hold government officials and entities accountable for not working for the people.

Thanks to everyone who came! Hopefully there’s more to come.

Went to the Hawaiian Humane Society today! I was interested in doing their ‘Ilio Explorers program, which allows you to take a dog on a field trip, but I didn’t know you had to sign up, so I wasn’t able to.

Will sign up when I’m back in August bc who doesn’t want a doggie date for the day??

The shelters are full across the country so if you can foster or adopt, please do!

Was able to take time to visit one of my favorite people in Houston - Rebecca from Divine Ritual Wellness spa. We did a 90 min deep clean facial include 30 minutes of deep fascia & buccal massage. 10/10 recommend
