The USMNT is officially into the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 but the win came with a major problem.

Folarin Balogun scored the opening goal for the United States, giving him his third goal of the tournament, but later received a straight red card after a VAR review. Because of that suspension, Balogun is set to miss the huge knockout match against Belgium. Malik Tillman added the second goal with a free kick, sealing a massive win for the USA even after going down to 10 men.

This result is huge for American soccer. The United States earned its first World Cup knockout win since 2002 and now faces Belgium in the Round of 16. But without Balogun, one of the USMNT’s most dangerous attackers, the pressure is now on Christian Pulisic, Malik Tillman, and Mauricio Pochettino’s squad to prove they can keep this World Cup run alive.

Can the USMNT beat Belgium without Balogun? Or is this where the World Cup dream gets dangerous?

🔥 USMNT just changed the conversation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The United States defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 to reach the Round of 16 but that's only part of the story.

After Folarin Balogun opened the scoring, he was sent off following a VAR review. Down to 10 players, the USMNT refused to back down. Malik Tillman sealed the win with a brilliant free kick, sending the hosts into a blockbuster Round of 16 clash against Belgium.

Now comes the biggest question...

🇺🇸 Can this USMNT squad finally beat Belgium and make a serious World Cup run?

Sports aren’t just games they’re moments that bring people together.

In the U.S., sports are part of everyday life. From NFL Sundays, NBA rivalries, MLB traditions, college football crowds, to the energy of soccer growing across the country, every sport has its own culture, history, and loyal fans.

What makes sports special isn’t only the final score. It’s the comeback no one expected, the underdog story, the last-second shot, the record-breaking play, and the feeling of watching your team win with people who care just as much as you do.

That’s why sports will always be bigger than entertainment. They create memories, build communities, and remind us why competition can be so powerful.
