Michael Brückner - Immersive Soundworlds

Well, sometimes all it needs is patience - last year, I recorded two in-depth conversations with some of my musical heros, but for several reasons, it wasn't possible to release those at that time.
I'm very happy that the first of those is finally "live" now!

Without a doubt, Michael Stearns is one of the most important pioneers of electronic space music.


Originally a rock guitarist, his deeply immersive signature style evolved out of music he started to perform for meditation workshops in the 1970s.



After releasing genre defining solo albums like "Ancient Leaves", "Morning Jewel" and "Planetary Unfolding" (all classics!) Michael Stearns started a career as a film music composer, scoring films like "Chronos", "Baraka" and "Samsara" and contributing music and sound design to the soundtracks of blockbusters like "Titanc" and "Avatar".



Michael Stearns also repeatedly collaborated with other important synthesists and ambient pioneers like Kevin Braheny, Steve Roach, Robert Rich and Erik Wöllo.



Also, he still is an active live performer.


A great occasion to catch him at concert is on Saturday, May 30 2026 at FUSION I The Cell, 700 1st Street NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
