Clearance divers from HMAS Yarra joined the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) for a guided dive of the wreck of the 📍 Kinugawa Maru, a Japanese transport ship sunk during the Guadalcanal campaign of World War II. 🏊

Members of the RSIPF Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Department shared techniques and lessons learned, exchanging ideas on establishing dive sites, emergency procedures and conducting mock disposal serials.

💥 Rolling forward under fire.

As part of Exercise Southern Jackaroo, soldiers from the 3rd Combat Service Support Battalion (3 CSSB) put their mounted live-fire skills to the test at the 📍 Townsville Field Training Area.

Operating from protected platforms, troops engaged targets using MAG 58 machine guns and F89 Minimi light support weapons.

Activities included ammunition resupply, weapon loading procedures, and coordinated engagement while mounted, strengthening interoperability and battle readiness.

During Exercise Southern Jackaroo, Direct Fire Support Weapons Platoon from the Australian Army's 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, operated as part of a combined arms team, integrating with:
⚔️ 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment
⚔️ 2nd Cavalry Regiment
⚔️ 5th Aviation Regiment

The platoon conducted an air assault aboard a CH-47F Chinook helicopter from the 5th Aviation Regiment, before establishing their position and firing the Mk47 Automatic Grenade Launcher in support of a combined arms breach.
