Drummer since childhood, over 30 years ago. Natural ability inherited from my father, who was also a drummer. I grew up on acoustic kits, but fell in love with the vast array of percussive sounds and customizable dynamics of higher-end Vdrums. I create my kit sounds by building a base kit (sizes/wood types / heads, etc...) and slightly modifying them using module's on board EQ and compression tools. For covers, this is where I replicate the source drummer's kit based on research. I also apply room ambience effects for realism. I polish off the mixing in Ableton Live to nail down the sound I'm looking for. For covers, this is where I sum the drum track and backing track together, and usually master with an EQ Glue compressor before export.
