The feature you are describing—the ability to add an external link with custom text (e.g., "Visit my website" or "Check out my portfolio") directly below your name and photo—was previously part of Creator Mode, which LinkedIn retired in early 2024.
LinkedIn has since restricted or removed this feature for many users, "realigning" it as a Premium Business benefit.
Where the setting is now (if available to you)
If you have a Premium Business, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter subscription, you can still edit this button:
Go to your profile and click the Pencil icon in the top "Intro" section (next to your name).
Scroll to the very bottom of the pop-up window.
Look for a section titled Custom button or Premium custom button.
If it is visible, click Edit custom button to add your URL and select your button text.

Retired for Free Users: LinkedIn removed the free "custom link" feature that was formerly available under Creator Mode. If you do not have a paid Premium Business subscription, this section will no longer appear in your "Edit Intro" menu.
Removal of Existing Links: If you previously had a link but removed it or switched subscription tiers, you may no longer have the option to add a new one.
Creator Mode Changes: Since Creator Mode features are now "on" by default for everyone, the specific toggle and its associated custom link were removed from the standard profile layout.
Alternative: Use the "Contact Info" Link
If the custom button is gone, you can still add clickable websites to your Contact Info section, though they will be less prominent:
1) Click the Pencil icon in your Intro section.
2) Scroll down and click Edit contact info.
3) Add your website URLs there. These will appear when someone clicks the "Contact info" link on your profile.
