My time in Iceland is coming to a close. Congratulations to GingerGM author GM Nils Grandelius on winning the Reykjavik Open 2023!
To round off the tournament, I played in the Visir International for some over-the-board blitz tournament. It was the first blitz tournament to be broadcast live on Icelandic television, with 8 Icelandic and international players, including some @chess favourites! I was paired against Iceland's newest GM-elect Vignir Vatnar Stefansson, and after a win each, I bowed out in the armageddon game.
Thanks to Bjorn Thorfinnsson and Reykjavik Open team for organising the tournament and inviting me. Until next time!

I'm currently in Iceland to play in my favourite open tournament of the year... the Reykjavik Open!
