That’s a wrap, for now. Today, our team delivered an additional 701 petition signatures to the city clerk. She has five days to certify the signatures. If she deems our petition efforts a failure, we will appeal to the city council. This will likely happen on April 23.
If the council refuses to adopt our initiative or place it on the August ballot, we will have no choice but to appeal to the courts and claim clear constitutional violations for disregarding the signatures of nearly 9,000 citizens.
The fight is not over.
Your job: message the city council using our form at SaveTheGarden.org and tell them to put our initiative on the August ballot.
We want voter approval required when the city decides to give away a public street.
