Today in the video: repairing the garden and the gate 🛠️, cozy chores taking care of our animals (our cow Lasunia sends her regards to everyone! 🐮), and planting beet seedlings by hand using traditional methods 🌱.

I finally finished the new video on our channel Highland Village Life!
Today, we go back in time. I’m using a handmade wooden divider — a tool my ancestors used for centuries to measure land in the Carpathian Mountains... It’s a unique experience to work the soil exactly as it was done 100 years ago.

A winter morning in our small mountain village in the Carpathians.
Today we prepared and preserved pork for the cold season using old traditional family recipes.
Some meat was cooked in a pot, some baked in the wood-fired oven, and then everything was sealed in jars for winter storage.
Simple village work, warm hands, and traditions that still live in the highlands.

the first snow has touched the mountains ❄️.
we’re making a traditional mushroom preserve from porcini, russula, and aspen mushrooms — and harvesting red beets and carrots from our mountain garden.
