Sandu Political Earthquake: 60 NPP Youths Resign

A significant political development has emerged in Sandu following the resignation of 60 youths from the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), citing dissatisfaction with the government’s development efforts in the area. Speaking to Kuwonku TV, youth leader Ebrima Camara, popularly known as Kaw, said the decision was driven by what he described as unfulfilled promises made by President Adama Barrow’s administration. “This is why we have decided to resign from the NPP,” Camara said. “We have not yet decided which political party to join, but we have parted ways with the NPP.”

Commenting on the performance of the National Assembly Member (NAM) for Sandu, Ebrima Jaiteh, Camara expressed strong dissatisfaction, claiming that the lawmaker has not adequately addressed the concerns of the people. “Jaiteh is only good at distributing football jerseys. He does not care about the people of Sandu,” Camara alleged.

He further argued that the current NAM would struggle to secure re-election, claiming that many residents are unhappy with his performance. “This is his last term. He will not win the next parliamentary election because the people of Sandu are not satisfied with his work,” he said.

When asked to compare Jaiteh’s performance with that of former lawmaker Mahanera, Camara maintained that the former representative performed better. “Mahanera is far better than Jaiteh. In fact, you hardly see Jaiteh speaking in Parliament,” he stated. Camara also criticized Talibo Konjira’s role in the constituency, arguing that his contributions have been limited. “Talibo is only good at talking. What he is doing is something anyone can do. Sitting on television and talking is very simple,” he said.

In conclusion, Camara called on the youths of Sandu to unite and vote against the NPP in future elections. “They cannot wipe your tears because they are only good at breaking promises,” he added.
