The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has urged the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) to put all recruitment processes on hold until the High-Level Committee headed by Minister Nyato Dukam submits its report on the proposed review of the state's 80:20 recruitment policy.
AAPSU President Meje Taku said the issue was raised to safeguard employment opportunities for the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh. He asserted that after the TGT examination on July 12, no further recruitment examinations should be conducted until the committee finalises its recommendations.
The union also opposed the proposed July 13 consultative meeting on the memorandum seeking Scheduled Tribe/Sub-Tribe/Plains Tribe status for the Kachari community residing in Namsai and Changlang districts, stating that such a move would undermine the sentiments of the indigenous people of the state.
Meje Taku further alleged that political influence could be behind the proposal and warned that AAPSU would launch a democratic agitation and seek action against anyone found responsible, regardless of their position.
Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh Government has cancelled the proposed consultative meeting scheduled for July 13.

The AFTF urged the government to implement the recommendations of the Taba Tedir High Level Committee Report, 2022, stating that the report provides the framework for ensuring ST and PRC verification in recruitment processes.
The organisation also demanded that the APPSC Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) 2026 advertisements should not be published until ST and PRC are made mandatory in APPSC and APSSB recruitments.
AFTF warned that if its demands are not fulfilled by the August 10 deadline, it will launch a Pan-Arunachal movement, signalling a wider statewide agitation over the issue.
