The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at around 12 locations across Kerala in connection with the CMRL money laundering case, including the Thiruvananthapuram residence of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his son-in-law P. A. Mohamed Riyas. As the raid concluded and officials were leaving, tensions escalated outside Vijayan’s residence, where protestors allegedly blocked the ED vehicle and threw footwear, water bottles, and stones. The situation turned violent with the arrival of SFI protestors, while police and central forces struggled to control the crowd, and the vehicle carrying officials—including women personnel—was reportedly damaged with its windshield broken.
