📢 Mark your calendars! Catch Mark Doten on tour for WHITES, their corrosive story collection about the insatiable logic of whiteness (out 8/19). And stay tuned for additional events to be announced!
We're thrilled to announce that our annual fundraising event, the Graywolf Literary Salon, will be on Thursday, September 25 at Glass House in Minneapolis! We are excited to welcome Chloé Caldwell (author of TRYING) and Joshua Wheeler (author of THE HIGH HEAVEN) for a dynamic onstage conversation, moderated by our director and publisher Carmen Giménez. Local writer chaun webster will open the program with an exclusive glimpse into his debut nonfiction project, arriving from Graywolf in 2026. The evening will feature a social reception with drinks and light bites before our literary program, with book sales and signing to follow. As a nonprofit press, this fundraising event is instrumental to our mission to publish bold, risk-taking literature. Tickets are limited and selling fast! Happy pub. day to Irene Solà's I GAVE YOU EYES AND YOU LOOKED TOWARD DARKNESS, an earthy, bewitching, and ferocious new novel translated from the Catalan by Mara Faye Lethem 🎉🎉 🖇️ Pick up a copy from your local indie today, and swipe to see Irene's tour details! Dawn is breaking over the Guilleries, a rugged mountain range in Catalonia frequented by wolf hunters, brigands, deserters, race-car drivers, ghosts, and demons. In a remote farmhouse called Mas Clavell, an impossibly old woman lies on her deathbed. Family and caretakers drift in and out. Meanwhile, all the women who have lived and died in that house are waiting for her to join them. They are preparing to throw her a party. As day turns to night, four hundred years’ worth of stories unspool, and the house reverberates with raucous laughter, pungent feasts, and piercing cries of pleasure and pain.
📢 Two very special chances to see Elisa Levi present her buzzy, breakout novel THAT'S ALL I KNOW. Brooklyn & San Francisco, mark your calendars! Details at 🖇️ www.graywolfpress.org/events
When a stranger loses his dog on the first day after the end of the world, nineteen-year-old Little Lea warns him not to follow it into the forest, that people who enter never come out. Over a shared joint, she tells him about the burning in her gut, winding a tale of loss, desire, and conspiracies. In a formally ambitious sustained monologue meant to distract the man as the forest does its work, THAT'S ALL I KNOW (trans. by Christina MacSweeney) explores the toll of caring for those who cannot care for themselves, the fear of the unknown that anchors people to unfulfilling lives, and the bravery it takes to stop deceiving oneself, to give in to longing.
