I bought Ultimania, and while the developer's backstory was interesting, it didn't answer any of my questions about the game's setting.
The biggest question I have is why the Bearer race is discriminated against. The developer said that this game was made with medieval Europe as a reference, and I think the discrimination of the bearers is probably a reference to witch hunts.
However, bearer discrimination is completely different from witch hunting.The setting of this game, Valisthere, is where magic is very useful both in life and in war, and in wars, there is a unit made up of bearers.
Bearers are not feared beings like witches, but are far more capable than ordinary humans, yet are hated for some reason.
There is even a parent who throws his child away without hesitation if he finds out that his child is a bearer the moment he is born, but this is also a value that was born in just a few years, and the setting is too unreasonable.
Ordinary humans have no reason to discriminate against bearers who do not have crystals and can use magic, even though they live using crystals.

アルティマニアを購入しました、開発者の裏話は面白かったですが、このゲームの設定に対する疑問は何も解決しませんでした。
一番疑問を抱いているのが、ベアラーという種族が何故差別されているのかという事です。このゲームは開発者が中世ヨーロッパを参考に作ったと言っていました、ベアラーの差別は恐らく魔女狩りを参考にしているのだと思います。
しかしベアラー差別は魔女狩りとは全くの別物です、このゲームの舞台であるヴァリスゼアは生活するにも戦争をするにも魔法がとても役に立ちます、戦争ではベアラーを集めた部隊が存在します。
ベアラーというのは魔女のような恐怖の存在ではなく、普通の人間よりも遥かに有能な存在でありながら何故か忌み嫌われています。
生まれた瞬間に自分の子供がベアラーであると分かれば少しの躊躇もなく捨てる親まで登場しますが、これもたった数年の間に生まれた価値観であまりにも設定に無理がありすぎます。
普通の人間は、自分たちはクリスタルを使用して生活をしているにも関わらずクリスタルを持たずに魔法が使えるベアラーを差別する理由がありません。

The second half of the story from Bahamut was not exciting.It's hard to empathize with the depiction of homosexuality that doesn't make sense, and the depiction of the heroine Jill is too lacking.I just like the main character Clive, the dog Torgal, the action and the world view, so I cleared it.I plan to play for the third round.🙂

後半の展開が盛り下がる、意味のよく分からない同性愛描写、感情移入しにくい泣き所やヒロインの過去、クライヴ初め中年男性が良い味を出しいる、総評は満足
